Flash Frost Spells + Spells with durations

How would you guys interpret Flash Frosh Spell to work with spells with a duration. Let's use sleet storm for example. Would a Flash Frost Sleet Storm do 6 damage each round or just 6 damage the first round it was cast?

I would say the first round only. The metamagic is described as only lasting one round later in the description and though you could say that the slippery part ends and the damage persists that really doesn't make much sense. It's supposed to be a "Flash" frost anyway.
