If I damage something that has 'explosive runes' cast on it, does that trigger the explosion?

Can I make Weapons of Legacy into an Item Familiar? What about into an Ancestral Relic?

No, only reading, or failing to dispel or erase the runes triggers them.

It would not work to make a WoL an Ancestral Relic. Though the market price is listed, the actual value of a WoL as stated in Weapons of Legacy is priceless. Therefore you would never be able to use your feat to increase it's power, as it's more expensive than the Ancestral Relic feat allows. There's no reason you couldn't combine Item Familiar + Ancestral Relic or WoL + Item Familiar, though.
