Is there any explanation somewhere for why this can only go on bludgeoning weapons? It seems to me like it'd be justified to allow it on other weapons. Also, is it even worth it? I mean, DC14 is kind of low isn't it?

The original Disruption weapon was a specific weapon, the Mace of Disruption. That's why only bludgeoning weapons; it's a continuity nod to the older editions. For the save.. no, it's not particularly good, especially by the time you can afford a +3 equivalent weapon to have it at all. And you're trying to attack the Undead type's one good save. For most undead, by the time you hit them enough to make them statistically likely to get blown up by Disruption you probably have them down by HP damage anyway.

If it were written later, you might see it as a Synergy enhancement, like an alternative to Fiercebane.. Disruption: +1 equivalent, struck undead must make (either a lower DC Fort save, or a higher and stat-scaling [Wielder's Cha based, probably] Will save) or be destroyed. Requires Undead Bane.

Disruption is a hold over from 2E, the mace of disruption. They carried the 'mace' or 'non-bladed weapons' from 2E, when clerics could not used edged weapons.

There is no reason to have this in 3E, other then 'history'.

And DC 14 is low, but you can increase it by a custom magic item.
