I find myself wondering...
amongst the playgrounders, who plays what?
for warhammer 40k, I play Space marines
if I ever have the disposable income to pick up warhammer fantasy as well, I intend to play dwarves and ogre kingdoms.
I pick these armies for the following reasons
1. cheap - relatively speaking, playing space marines, ogres, and dwarves makes the game cheaper. you have to purchase fewer models to field a playable and formidable force.
2. fluff - for my money, you can't beat the mythos and background behind the space marines and the dwarves. I site things such as the ultramarines novels, Armageddon, and the Brotherhood of the snake for examples.
for the dwarves, we have the entire slayer series + grudgebearer
the ogres?
come on, they eat people. and what I've read of them appeals to me.
3. tactics - space marines are mankind's ultimate weapon, capable of bringing any type of warfare necessary to their enemies to push them to destruction.
dwarves have a wonderful "you can't budge me" flavor too them, sure they don't move fast, but if the enemy must come to you and break themselves on your shield wall, why does it matter?
ogres - again, massive, damaging, wonderful..
so..
tl;dr. what army do you play in warhammer Fantasy or Warhammer 40,000 and why?

on a related note, does anyone have experience with creating their own space marine chapter? I haven't gotten my hands on the new codex, but I have lots of ideas for a chapter I'd love to make if I can.
