If I wanted to DM a campaign based on vikings and ancient Finnish mythology (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finnish_mythology), what adaptations should I make into the game to make it fit the theme better? Primarily, I'd want to make non-casters a better choice, as well as making the choice between using a 2h weapon OR a 1h weapon and shield OR a ranged weapon more even.

Yes, I know there weren't any Finnish vikings, but that can be easily adapted for the campaign.

The only thing I've thought of so far:

The only available casters are Spirit Shaman, Sorcerer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louhi), Warlock and Bard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%A4in%C3%A4m%C3%B6inen)

There was a guy doing a Viking-themed game a while back. The thread is probably still around.

It was by no means historically accurate, just themed in a certain way. You might try something similar.

Well, as this game is supposed to have some casters and Finnish vikings, it's obviously not historically correct either, just themed as similarly as possible.
Would you have a link for that topic?

I'd use the Advanced Search option. Pretty sure the thread title had the word "Viking" in it.

I'd do it for you, but I'm headed to work right now.

The only one I could find was someone asking but how to make a viking character, but it didn't really have any good information.

As a side note here, I don't need anyone to post "basic info" about Finnish culture like what happened in that thread. (see "Location" on the left)
