What does pixie or halfling or troll in the playground mean??

I joined 5/18 and it says I'm a pixie but others are halflings and trolls and elves. Is this determined by the number of posts or something?

The User Title that appears under your User Name changes over time in relation to your post count total.

For total. And there's a an average of "posts per day" thing in your profile. But seriously, though, don't pay much attention to it. Post counts don't matter.
