And if there are, er, were elves here, there's probably dragons there...and...I just realized I don't know where I was going with this. Scratch that. You can find islands easily enough. But how will you determine which ones are safe, and which ones are dangerous?

And another one with no trees. Fairly round, although with irregular edges, and a small pool in the middle. Unlike the water elsewhere the pool lacks the red algae.

You find more islands, but the average size is about 5 to 10-ft diameter if they don't have trees, and a little bigger if they only have one. You do see a rhomboid (diamond) shaped island with four trees.

2 are 20-ft from the center; they're shorter than the others (only rivalling the tallest pines instead of surpassing redwoods).

The other 2 are 30-ft from the center.

I'm not sure we can beat them even if we get the book. I mean yes if we have time at the crystals alone. But if they're nearby we might not have time for any such rituals. If they've made copies we will need to get every copy out of their hands and then we will need to force them to come after us. If they can make it past Gal'raxthon then they can do much more than I ever could.

I'll take their everything and hide the useless stuff. If possible. Still, I know for a fact I can probably set up an ambush, because I was able to hide from them at one point.

I'm not sure. There has to be more here than there were at my old home. There's no way just those three would even have tried to pass through the mountains with the dragons. Not only that they didn't even try to go through with stealth. This is an army.

They had several frost giants when they first attempted to breach the mountains. We didn't see where they went, but we might have simply been looking in the wrong place. Can a single dwarf control a frost giant and force it to do its bidding?

Maybe the dwarf is mind-controlling their leader, maybe the dwarves and frost giants were always allies.

The roof is about 13-ft high, and the cave is about 10-ft wide. It looks like a natural system, with scattering of barag droppings (a bat-like creature that eats small rodents). The cave continues for 70-ft and you can see a polar bear within. You think it has seen your silhouette.

Seventeen. More likely one. We could just back away from the cave and nobody would get hurt.

And most of the others, because it's the hardest place to be seen while flying is just below the clouds. Oh the dragons still might see you, they'd be on the same level, but otherwise you'll blend in.
