I'm trying to build a love-and-peace-and-beauty-and-flowers type of character. So far here's what I have:

Human, Half Fey, Draconic, Saint (looks legal, correct me if I'm wrong) Cleric 1/ Bard 1/ Fighter 1/ Marshal 1/ Celebrant of Sharess 7/ Sublime Chord 1/ Heartwarder 2/ Exemplar 1.

Um. So quite a bit of dipping there. Feats are:
flaw: Dodge
flaw: Sacred Vow
1: Vow of Purity
Planning domain: Extend spell
3: Southern Magician
Fighter 1: EWP Whip
Marshal 1: Skill Focus (Diplomacy)
6: Vow of Nonviolence
9: Spell Focus: Enchantment
12: Persistent spell
15: DMM: Persist

So the logic is the following: Celebrant of Sharess is a kinda-meh class in its mix of melee, spellcasting, and inexplicably poor BAB. I do like the flavor, the spell list and the many Perform check-based abilities (Sanctuary especially).

So CS qualifies me for Sublime Chord, Heartwarder advances Sublime Chord, I get one level 6 bard spells in the end which will be Nixie's Grace, which I can DMM Persist by turning it to a divine spell via Southern Magician. I can also DMM Persist Blinding Beauty. There are probably other good candidates, I just haven't dug them up yet.

Unfortunately I don't get Divine Power, so the melee side will likely remain under-used. I guess I could take the War Domain but it really doesn't fit thematically, and I prefer the Charm domain and its untyped +4 to Cha 1/day as a free action (Planning domain is rather necessary as it stands).

The whole template-thing up top is to get save DCs as high as possible on the limited set of abilities.

Now I'm sure it can be improved, and I'm specifically looking for help on the following:
- ways to turn arcane spells to divine without the human prerequisite of Southern Magician. Dragon magazine is out, unfortunately, or I would have gone Alternate Spell Source.
- another choice of class that advances casting to replate Heartwarder. It's nice thematically but the abilities (especially for 2 levels) aren't worth the huge and dumb prerequisites
- good choices of feats to replace the ones that's going to free
- various ways to increase charisma and/or spell DCs further
- more theme-appropriate cheese.

In essence, I'm just trying to out-Nymph the Nymph.

What's more hippy and one with nature than a druid?

As I recall, druid 20 is a highly effective build.

what hippies that you know of would survive long enough to get to level 2?

Well as long as he does not directly effect his enemies he should be fine. Buffing his allies, keeping them alive, violence deterrent battlefield control. A hippie may not approve of a battle taking place, but I'm sure they would help their friends if it was for their self-defense.

fair enough

second question: how does a hippie afford level-appropriate gear? as far as i know, a socialist/communist-leaning group that rarely has enough change to do laundry would barely be able to get a cloak of resistance, and i doubt it would be before level 5

If you have an employer he'll probably give you jobs he knows you can pull off. Send in the hippie to negotiate for you, solve your problems that aren't violence based, etc. Adventures can be non-combat based fairly easily. A job board comes up with all sorts of weird requests. He looks like he's using bard up there so if he has to clear out some beasts he could go for a pied piper theme to lure them out of the basement and out of the city. Orcs ransacking a village? Influence their violent ways through economic influence and such, via finding them land and teaching them how to farm/craft/etc. Two nations about to go to war? Sounds like a job for Mr. Negotiator. He just has to make sure to get a benefactor who will pay him for his work. He's not taking Vow of Poverty so he can certainly get rewards from those he's helped.

Why not look into building something around Fochlucan lyrist? You could sing the songs about the streams and sky?
