how does one post a chart on the forum from a word document, so that it is more than just the data from the chart?

A chart from a Word document should be either an image or a collection of shape art, depending on the version.

If it's an image, you'll have to copy the image out of the document, then upload that image somewhere like Fileshack and link to it on the forums.

If it's shape art, the easiest way would be to take a screenshot, then upload the screenshot to Fileshack.
