I've seen that 'Roll a d6' all over the place. I saw it on /tg/ a while back and now I've seen two threads here about it. So, I thought to get everyone's opinion on this matter. I know some of you liked Roll a d6, I know a certain doctor likes White and Nerdy (Though, does it make mention of dnd?), and of course there's that lovely Lynch song.

Buuut, what about this classic? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waa2ucfgVgQ)

So, Playground. What's your favorite?

Always the first to die (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMLcy86bZNw&feature=related) not the greatest but its a D&D song.

Cloak of Elvenkind (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFG5Dd6EF1k) by Marcy Playground is a good one. Not my favorite, but it is nicely different from the likes of Never Split the Party.

Here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=198167)'s a selection of songs (or rather, songs rewritten, but not yet performed) created by the members of this very forum.

I nominate the ending credits song from The Gamers: Dorkness Rising, which is of course the best D&D movie ever made.

Considering the major competition is from basically the film Dungeons & Dragon, that isn't saying much.

The metalband Rhapsody of Fire was more or less formed because of d&d. They produced music for their own sessions IIRC :smallamused:

Unholy Warcry (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLe1G7WBNkE&feature=fvst)

fast-forward to 4:30 if you don't like waiting. (who does?)

Hey! What happened to the Gamers I? I still prefer the first

Well, the second one, don't know, feels more like a real movie. Higher production values. Plus, they were allowed to actually use D&D terms.

I agree, Rhapsody of Fire is a great source of awesome music, with the added bonus of actually having a unique setting for it all. Also, Christopher Lee, of course. Everyone should listen to The Magic of the Wizard's Dream. Truly one of the most beautiful songs ever made.

Ha! That's crazy, I just watched both Gamers movies back to back last night, followed by Wizards.

Also, Unholy Warcry was pretty great. I'm diggin' this band.

DND by Semisonic. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9erEJmIohA)

The best thing about it? It's nothing to do with D&D, but it sounds exactly like it is and once you hear it that way it's impossible to think it means anything else.

Also, so awesome that Unholy Warcry comes from D&D. Did not realise, but it completely makes sense. Isn't that the one with Christopher Lee in too?

And it has Monte Cook in it.

My favorite is "Screw You, DM" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL1YqW35V6w) by Dan the Bard. Mostly because I swear I was in a campaign JUST like that.

Edit: There's also this little gem (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA9wM81WgS0) brought to us from the folks behind Dorkness Rising.

This song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0rV88Ev-og) only has two dnd references in it, but it's also from a great and popular band and one of the best albums from the 90's (In my humble opinion).

In The Garage - Weezer. I'm not sure if it's already been mentioned, but it's on the Blue Album which makes it the best by default.

"Never split the party" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waa2ucfgVgQ) seems to hit one of the most important points about D&D.

Thanks very much Mazeburn! I'm new to this forum and to real D&D in general but I grew up playing the Icewind Dale and Neverwinter Nights series, so I have a very rudimentary knowledge of how the game works. Long story short, my friends and I used to talk about this song and one friend argued that it was about D&D because his older brother played it, etc... Anyway it popped into my head yesterday and I was totally unable to remember which band had done it. It's nice to hear the song again and get some closure on what it's about... I hear DND means "Do not Disturb" not "D&D", sadly. :smallwink:

The fact that we can get to page two without mentioning Lake of Tears' classic Raistlin and the Rose (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oywjqkBVLg4) is disturbing.

Well, I don't know if it is considered D&D related (even if the Dragonlance are the novelization of a D&D campaign).

If it count, The Soulforged (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dBBuOdxTU8) by Blind Guardian, is a song about Raistlin. And I LOVE it.
