With the handle animal skill does the animal have to be domesticated for it to be taught tricks?

Read the special, you can't train an animal if you don't have ranks in handle animal.

So no, you're not going to be able to train that bear.

The answer to your question is... No.

What if I pay someone with ranks in handle animal to do it?

And how are you gonna drag a black bear back to the city? (if anyone's wondering, I'm in this game)

It's following me now. But the getting the bear there is a minor problem. I'm wondering if it can be trained once I find an animal trainer.

It's following you because you have a bunch of fish. And because this bear has kinda taken you as its cub.

I have to ask: Why is the bear following you? Are you running in front of it?

It's complicated. My character dropped a ton of trash in hopes of luring an animal like a raccoon (it sort of worked) when a bear showed up. It was roaring at us so we ran away, than it started to slowly follow us and I tried to push it with handle animal (it sort of worked). The bear realized we had food and continued to follow us. After enough feeding (read: rolled a high enough handle animal check) the bear has taken my character in treating it like a cub. Now as much as I like the bear (I named her Tybalt) I'd like to be able to get it to help me with some stuff like in case I need it to guard something.

Also if anyone knows a way to make the bear more powerful like spells that would help that would be useful too.

Is our GM -aware- that you can't Handle Animal without skill ranks?

If you have no ranks in Handle Animal, you can use a Charisma check to handle and push domestic animals,

Each time I was attempting to push it.

Edit:
Nevermind saw my own mistake.
Didn't read the fine print.

Yes, spells can make a bear more powerful.

Only do this after the bear is already on your side.

am the gm I read the part about using charisma when its untrained and he didn't domesticate it, it adopted him like in dwarf fortress how cats adopt your dwarves. I just read the domesticate part but still it adopted him

Man I have to play that game. Dwarves having children that they carry around into battle. Cats participating in the adoption agency. Sounds messed up.

no cats adopt fully grown dwarves
