Alright, I just generated a new world in minecraft a few days ago, and it's got some really cool natural features. Mainly-an abundance of large caves and diamond veins. After building a few things, I decided it's probably be fun to show the world off as I built it.
Also, I need some help naming the place.
Also, I need help figuring out redstone circuitry, 'cause that stuff is CONFUSING. WHY CAN'T YOU BE LIKE REAL LIFE CIRCUITRY, REDSTONE!?!? WHHHYYYYYY?!?!
So, basically, as I build, I'll be showing it off and taking ideas and hints from anyone who posts an idea or a hint. As long as they're GOOD ideas or hints. I will be playing on normal difficulty, and I will be using the TooManyItems mod, because otherwise, I spend the entire time digging and hoping creepers don't spawn and that's for the multiplayer games. I am using a copy my friend downloaded onto my computer, because he has an actual minecraft account and I don't.
So, for your consideration, here is an outside view of the cave I spawned on top of, from the best vantage point I could get to without building a huge stairway:

Ah, heck, I'll show off the area around the cave now.

And here is a pick from the very entrance of the cave, revealing the fact that my cave is stuck at the end of a deep valley.

And, just as a bit of an add-on, I'm going to add a whenever-I-feel-like-it-ly update of my map, taken from the entrance to my cave.

Update 1:
The first thing I want to show off is mostly done, aside from a few finishing touches I haven't thought up yet. Maybe a mural or two...
It's a tunnel I blasted out of the cliff the blocked my way to the sea, then painstakingly smoothed and lined with mossy stone and some glowstone for lighting. I floored it at first with cobblestone, but then I found a lava lake and figured I'd transplant it and cover it up with glass for some nice lighting. I added some powered rails with a switch on either end and some detector rails to allow the fast travel of people and supplies. Afterwards I added a guard station complete with kitchen, guard dog, watchroom, and bedroom. I figure I'll attach some sort of continental highway to it later.
