Does the Sculpt Spell metamagic have any effect on Rays? E.g. Would it change a 30 ft ray into 4 10 ft cubes, etc.?

And is there any way to change Rays into an Area effect spells?

Lens of Ray Widening is a limited use item from LoM that turns rays shot through it into cones. Unfortunately it only applies after the ray is fired, and so you can't stack sculpt spell on top of it.

If your DM will let you use it, there is the Ray Coning Metemagic Feat.

Type: Metamagic
Source: Dragon Annual 5

You expand a ray spell to a 30-foot cone.
Benefit: All targets in the area of effect receive Reflex saves to avoid the effect, but are otherwise affected as if they were hit by the ray spell. A coned ray uses up a spell slot two levels higher than the spell's actual level.

After you add that on you should be able to use Sculpt Spell with no problem.

When it says Reflex save to avoid the effect, is that Reflex Negates or Reflex Half for damage?

And does that stay when I sculpt it into something that's not a cone?
