Is it possible to make attacks of opportunity, if one is denied his Dexterity to AC?
it's not if one is flat-footed, and usually being denied Dex to AC is more general than flat footed. but what happens if one loses his Dex to AC for other reasons?
for example a character without Unarmed strike can't attack without generating attacks of opportunity. but if he manages to feint, the opponent is denied his Dex to AC. can he do an attack of opportunity or not?

similar question for save throws. do i get a penalty to reflexes if i'm flat footed or without Dex? (blinded or stunned etc)

You can still take AoOs while denied Dex to AC. Only being Flat-Footed prevents that.

WotC tried to step away from the former during later parts of 3.5 by making more effects cause flat-footedness than denying Dex.

And you don't take any further penalties beyond not having Dex to AC (or being unable to take AoOs when flat-footed).

You always get your full Dexterity bonus to Reflex saves. Even when totally paralysed or unconscious. Reflex is as much lucky positioning as it is getting out of the way.

Actually a Helpless character is treated as having Dex 0 (-5 penalty).

A helpless character is paralyzed, held, bound, sleeping, unconscious, or otherwise completely at an opponent’s mercy. A helpless target is treated as having a Dexterity of 0 (-5 modifier). Melee attacks against a helpless target get a +4 bonus (equivalent to attacking a prone target). Ranged attacks gets no special bonus against helpless targets. Rogues can sneak attack helpless targets.

As a full-round action, an enemy can use a melee weapon to deliver a coup de grace to a helpless foe. An enemy can also use a bow or crossbow, provided he is adjacent to the target. The attacker automatically hits and scores a critical hit. (A rogue also gets her sneak attack damage bonus against a helpless foe when delivering a coup de grace.) If the defender survives, he must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + damage dealt) or die.

Delivering a coup de grace provokes attacks of opportunity.

Creatures that are immune to critical hits do not take critical damage, nor do they need to make Fortitude saves to avoid being killed by a coup de grace.

So instead of Dex to AC/Ref, you get a -5 penalty.

You still get your Dexterity to Reflex. Your Dexterity just happens to be 0. :smalltongue:

I mostly say these things because some people seem to think that if you can't move you don't get Reflex saves at all.
