Hey. I'm looking for good music that would fit with a medieval vampire game. You know, something to create the proper atmosphere for damnation, utter darkness in a world without electric lights, hidden horror and evil. All the fun stuff.

And since it's medieval, I'm not looking for techno or goth rock. Something more like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfF2iqLmC4g&feature=related), this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tqB09ma2hU&feature=related), this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbUw7ehGYK8&feature=related), this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqHrbvN51bE&feature=related) or this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3yVHz2s1kw&feature=related).

I'll really appreciate any suggestions.

Film and game soundtracks are probably gonna be your best bet, then.

Look up the band Corvus Corax. They're a group that tries to recreate the music of medieval times. Not the classical stuff, but the stuff that would have been played in the streets or in taverns. A lot of it has a pretty dark sort of feel; it's worth looking at.

It will be hard to compete with Kilar's score for Dracula. Still, The Witcher (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0I4d9ooz8w&feature=related) had a really good soundtrack.
Vision of Escaflowne has a very interesting soundtrack as well, but it's style might be slightly off. Dead Can Dance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GQuaf-_ErE) might be usable.

Or you could go all classical and play Karmina Burana from Orf of other such medieval music.

Now THESE are good finds. Thanks.

It might be worth checking out Christopher Lee's Charlemagne album. Yes, the grandaddy of Hammer vampire films has made an operatic recording. I haven't heard it, so I can't vouch for it, but might be worth investigating.

Also, you might get some mileage out of the Mediaeval Baebes. They set medieval texts to music with medieval instruments, and the album I've heard of theirs (The Rose) would probably suit.
