Brief Introduction
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is a reboot of the MLP franchise by Powerpuff Girls artist Lauren Faust, currently viewed by (almost) the entire Internet, not only the intended audience. Here is a place where we discuss the joy of friendship.

It's a clever show. It has excellent writing, character dynamics, humor, animation, and generally treats kids seriously rather than condescending to them. It has every right to be a 20 minute corporate committee designed infomercial, but it's not.

Pixar technically makes shows for little boys, and produce some of the best animation in the world.

No Brony could ask for more. I recommend watching the episodes in order. They're all up on Youtube. Unusually, Hasbro seems fine with having the entire series up in public because they've made no move to bring down any of the episodes. Search for "Friendship is Magic Episode 1" and you should find the series pretty easily... Or search for "Sharing is Magic" Google Doc. That is all.

Whoa, calm down there. The show is light hearted, optimistic fun but it's not for everyone. It's good fun, the community is good fun, and everyone can do with a reminder that friendship is magic but if it doesn't gel for you we'll love and tolerate you anyway. Plus, you might hit the wrong episode. Ask first?

Two minor background characters who were adopted as emblems of 4chan. Derpy Hooves is so named due to an animation error in the first episode that had her eyes facing in different directions; 4chan has assigned her the role of Ponyville's mailpony, and her only line so far has been "Muffins". The show's animators are aware of Derpy's popularity and she's shown up a few times recently with her eyes obviously derped. Currently made canon in Feeling Pinkie Keen and in Faust's picture showcased below, Derpy was deemed important enough to appear in storyboards for Season II.
Dr. Whoof is a pony with an hourglass cutie mark; he and his kin save time and space very quietly off camera.

This is why I waited until I downloaded all the episodes to start. Made sure they were all HD because I want them all the same quality too. Did I mention I'm overly picky with my work? Because I am. :smalltongue:

That's only pseudo-HD. Real HD episodes are all 1080p.
Plus, 720p that circulate are usually very poor iTunes encodes that are actually larger than proper 1080p ones. I got rid of them once 1080p versions become available from Hub.

Eh, I kept the 720p because I don't have an actual 1080p display and as such have no use for the full 1080p. :smalltongue:

The video editor I'm using keeps complaining about it being a trial version every time I start it up. I went to the website to find out what restrictions that meant, but couldn't find anything, so I figured that's fine.
I've gotten about 30 seconds of video finished after about 3 hours of work. (Not 100% of that time was work, I keep getting sidetracked, but still) The preview for it keeps skipping between scene changes, so I figured I'd publish what I've got to make sure it's working right.

No, no youtube. Actual 1080p encodes.
One difference is that they aren't cropped, have proper colors, with black black, good sound, and are actually finished :smalltongue:

Now, people have noted that Applejack has lied on occasion, despite being the element of honesty. This is true, though she's terrible at it.
However, I realized why, of all the characters in the show, she has the most silly expressions.
She is so strongly the element of honesty THAT HER FACE CAN'T LIE.
Second to second, her face is constantly telling you how she feels. She has no poker face; she'd be terrible at Card Games AND Lady Ga Ga songs (two things that Yugioh Abridged has tackled, coincidentally). If she's uncomfortable about covering for Pinkie's surprise party, you know it. If she's scared, you know it. Even when her lips aren't honest, or she stays quiet to be polite (in regards to the Crusaders' rock show), her face betrays her.

I was lurking in the ED chat and some stuff people said lead to an idea for a fanfic but I can't write so this idea's open to everyone. It involves Zecora's cutie mark.
We all know the tale of Nightmare Moon. BUT! What if we only knew half the story? There are, in fact, TWO sets of sisters that control the sun and the moon from different sides of the earth. Luna joined with the other moon sister, and the other moon sister used ancient magics to give her the power to become Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon lost and was banished, but the second sister did not. She succeeded in overthrowing her sister, and the sun princess was forced to flee. Who is this princess? Zecora! She found her way to Equestria, but is unable to return home because it has been utterly destroyed by the eternal night. Celestia's control over the sun casts enough light on most of the zebra kingdom to keep most of it standing, but the heart is shrouded in eternal darkness. This is also why Zecora won't talk about where she comes from, she is too ashamed about her failure to protect her land from her sister.
What do you think?
Of course someone else promptly pointed out that the sun in some African tribes or something represents healing, so she's clearly a healer, but I can still dream. :smalltongue:

...Or, y'know, don't. We aren't going to judge you if you decide you don't like it. Feel free to stop by and let us know your thoughts when you've come to a conclusion though, always nice to see what people think of the show. I'd suggest watching 2 or 3 episodes before making your decision though, just in case you start off on an episode that doesn't really meet your tastes. (There's a pretty good variety of jokes and whatnot in there)
On an unrelated note, while I was digging to see if there was a "Don't Fear the Pony" picture I stumbled upon those pictures that compare the iTunes episodes with the Hub episodes. Enough of that. INSPIRATION!
I was lurking in the ED chat and some stuff people said lead to an idea for a fanfic but I can't write so this idea's open to everyone. It involves Zecora's cutie mark.
We all know the tale of Nightmare Moon. BUT! What if we only knew half the story? There are, in fact, TWO sets of sisters that control the sun and the moon from different sides of the earth. Luna joined with the other moon sister, and the other moon sister used ancient magics to give her the power to become Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon lost and was banished, but the second sister did not. She succeeded in overthrowing her sister, and the sun princess was forced to flee. Who is this princess? Zecora! She found her way to Equestria, but is unable to return home because it has been utterly destroyed by the eternal night. Celestia's control over the sun casts enough light on most of the zebra kingdom to keep most of it standing, but the heart is shrouded in eternal darkness. This is also why Zecora won't talk about where she comes from, she is too ashamed about her failure to protect her land from her sister.
What do you think?
Of course someone else promptly pointed out that the sun in some African tribes or something represents healing, so she's clearly a healer, but I can still dream. :smalltongue:

The jump from chapter 6 to chapter 7 feels entirely too quick. I would be interested in seeing if you could combine the two chapters, and try to draw Luna's transformation some more. As is, she goes from "little sister throwing a tantrum over being ignored" to "domination-crazed maniac" in a very short space of reading time (even though it may have taken longer in-universe).
Or perhaps it's that she starts slipping into NM mode, then realizes her state of mind for a bit and teleports off, and the next time we see her she's gone almost full-on NM. Tethercat Principle (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TethercatPrinciple) makes the shift very jarring to the reader since it happens off-screen.

Well, that's just it. I didn't get an "OH SHI-" moment, it was more of a "Out of ****ing Nowhere, Nightmare Moon!" It felt too sudden to be properly horrific, but not being a particularly strong fiction-writer myself I can't offer particularly good advice. Heck, I might be completely off on there being a pacing issue at all, so wait and see what some other readers say. Even if you do have to end up revising CH 6/7, that's still 5 chapters out of 7 that came out without major issues!

I have worn a pair once. I became the world's deadliest ice skater: perfect balance and coordination, only while moving extremely fast.

it actually does make sense. Her hips are rotated around the central pivot that is her pelvis, making the rear hind leg start out farther along than the fore hind leg. It's nt longer, it just looks that way due to her hips beig obscured by angel bunny.
Of course, I initially read that as 'longer' and not 'bigger' so I may be entirely off base. We shall see, aye?
EDIT: ok, yes. The rear one is juuust on the other side of proportional. I could make an arguement for it being the way it is, but the artist probably should have erred on the side of looks good over proportions.

I've translated the first half of Desktop ponies (http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/05/story-desktop-ponies.html) to Russian (http://everypony.ru/rasskaz-desktopnye-poni), but the second one hit a snag when I realised I liked it less and less the more I read it. That, and some expressions are impossible to translate and I can't write something from my head in their place because I can't really write. So paused and decided to translate The flywheel of the apocalypse (http://everypony.ru/rasskaz-maxovik-apokalipsisa) to English in the meantime. As a fun exercise, if nothing else. It's the first FiM-fic written in Russian as far as I know. A rather short story. It's a kinda-self-insert (reader-insert, to be exact), so beware. There are probably some better works that came afterwards, but it's the first and that means a lot in this world (just look at what Cupcakes achieved by virtue of being first). If anyone has any advice, it'd be appreciated. It's in a "fully translated, but sounds horrible" state at the moment, and I lack the appropriate skill to clean it up. I had the same problem with Desktop ponies, but compensated for my lack of talent with rewriting select phrases a lot until they sound OK, and still got some criticism for sounding like an automated translator. This time, the problem is enhanced by working in my second language, so producing nothing read-worthy in the end is a distinct possibility...

Personally I find it hilarious how even with Seth's attempt at lobbying to Trixie's advantage Rarity still have almost twice as many votes as Trixie.
I do however second that the entire war is insane, and not necessarily in a good way.

Though an understandable reference, this really broke the verisimilitude for me. Hard.
* * * * * * ********"Hah, +2 Apple! *That's perfect. *But let's make it a +5!" *The earth pony dropped five coins onto the counter, took his treat, and walked off. *Once he was in range of another strangely dressed earth pony (Applejack couldn't even tell them apart anymore), he shouted out, "Apple Missile with a +5 enhancement," and let fly. *When he missed, Applejack heard the target mention something called a "crit fail."

Trixie is an actual name. At least as much as Trisha is. The fact that it is a pun on Tricksy is neat, but the G&PT is acknowledged as one of those few ponies with a human style name (Rarity and Lyra being the other two immediate examples, ironically).

Well, that's just it. I didn't get an "OH SHI-" moment, it was more of a "Out of ****ing Nowhere, Nightmare Moon!" It felt too sudden to be properly horrific, but not being a particularly strong fiction-writer myself I can't offer particularly good advice. Heck, I might be completely off on there being a pacing issue at all, so wait and see what some other readers say. Even if you do have to end up revising CH 6/7, that's still 5 chapters out of 7 that came out without major issues!
Good idea! I just have to wait for further reader feedback.
Oh, wait, I've been down to 1 review per chapter for a few chapters now. Awoops.

I agree with Raz_Fox, it doesn't flow right. I'd go so far as to suggest to completely cut her part. It doesn't accomplish anything or contribute to the solution of the story. So either shrink her part massively or change it so she contributes. Also I think this is the wrong place to let her show up. This chapter should focus solely on RD and Fluttershy and how they deal with the situation. The dialogue does that very well and shows their characters and their relations very well. But the Phoe thing distracts and dampens the effect.
And at the end you mention that RD flies back the next night to free her and you give a short excursus that she will write some fanfic. I would change that too, since this is the chapter that leads in to the final and needs to build up some tension. An excursus at this point reduces this, since it steps out of the main story, also we know what the main protagonist will do after the final.
I hope this is helpful.

I think that the resolution of freeing caged Shimmer is best as an after thought for after the climax of the final chapter. Her introduction isn't as much of a distraction in itself, but that part about freeing her a day later does break the tension building element of a story that is heading towards climax. Besides, the act of leaving her story "hanging" until an epilogue might bring another element of fun. Add in an excerpt of RD being uncomfortable reading the RDxFS story she wrote would be a nice touch.

That's movie's very interesting. I honestly think they had a really good idea in principle, and Joe Don did the best with what he had (I most definitely won't say the same thing about Mitchell) It's definitely an example of the trope "worse than it sounds."
A Texas Ranger, named for a proud Native American warrior, is disgraced and sent to a backwater post. While there, his partner, one of the few men who still respects him after his disgrace, is shot by a Sicilian gangster in the line of duty. The Ranger volunteers to escort him back to Italy for extradition... but the reach of the mafia is long and the plane is redirected to Malta. The mobster escapes, and the Ranger must now fight to see justice done amidst a background of local corruption and apathy, aided only by an attractive local policewoman who is the first person since his partner to see the dedicated lawman beneath the extra 30 pounds he's put on. There are boat chases, bar fights and gun fights in churches! Rated R.

Celestia sat back upon her throne. Chasing Luna around had been fun, but seeing an arrest in progress reminded her that she still had work to do. She closed her eyes and began reviewing her remaining duties in her mind. There were five new laws that she needed to review and ratify, all of them excruciatingly long and full of unrelated addendums and minutiae.
There needs to be a break between "gimme a few minutes" and "Celestia sat"
Still, good chapter. This is definitely a case of waiting for the other hoof to drop as soon as the enhancement magic was brought up.

A Texas Ranger, named for a proud Native American warrior, is disgraced and sent to a backwater post. While there, his partner, one of the few men who still respects him after his disgrace, is shot by a Sicilian gangster in the line of duty. The Ranger volunteers to escort him back to Italy for extradition... but the reach of the mafia is long and the plane is redirected to Malta. The mobster escapes, and the Ranger must now fight to see justice done amidst a background of local corruption and apathy, aided only by an attractive local policewoman who is the first person since his partner to see the dedicated lawman beneath the extra 30 pounds he's put on. There are boat chases, bar fights and gun fights in churches! Rated R.
Ok, when you put it that way, the plot seems a lot more compelling. It's just too bad the execution suffered...I do kinda want to see it like this.

See, told you. It was one of the few MST3K movies that mostly kept my interest on its own merits.
Also, Phoe, decided to read Chasing Rainbows. I did it from a feeling of duty, since you're always so verbose with your looks at my fics, but then I enjoyed it.
Good gosh, that was sad. If Dash is gay, and she had to hide it, she's had a miserable life. I haven't though through the sexual politics of Equestria enough to decide whether it's widely accepted or not in my head, but it definitely felt true to the real life experiences I've read about. Also, for some reason, I couldn't help but picture the white Filly as your avatar. If I'd been there at the time to make suggestions, I would have said the the transition between Fluttershy's POV and Rainbow Dash's early on could use a page break or line or something, but that's really the only flaw I saw.

It's a good sight better than the other shipfics I've read (like, Dizzy Momma, mainly, which I read mostly to see what fans thought of the Over Protective Pony Parent, wherein I thought the feelings described were artificial, and OPPP could have been paired with anypony and had the same basic story told).

This is how I know that Heroics could not be in more capable hooves.
I think that the resolution of freeing caged Shimmer is best as an after thought for after the climax of the final chapter. Her introduction isn't as much of a distraction in itself, but that part about freeing her a day later does break the tension building element of a story that is heading towards climax. Besides, the act of leaving her story "hanging" until an epilogue might bring another element of fun. Add in an excerpt of RD being uncomfortable reading the RDxFS story she wrote would be a nice touch.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read it despite the subject matter not matching your tastes. That really means a lot to me, as does the kindness of your praise. This is exactly the sort of thing I needed to get off my behind and finish the series, which I hope I will have done soon. Each story in the line has gotten progressively shippier as I've gone on, so I won't take offense if you take a pass on part 3. Thanks again! :smallsmile:

Trixie is prettier. Rarity has a beauty, but also a sort of self mocking attention, since she prions to the point of fault. But after two weeks of drawing, and study, and absorption... Trixie is beautiful. Her lines, her palette. . . There is an elegance to her design that is entrancing, bewitching. It's possible that Trixie wears her hat and cloak to keep the stallions at bay. And a lot of mares, too.

But yes, there are many instances of parents naming their hilsren based off of how pretty the word sounds in vacuum, bereft of meaning. It reminds me of a very old factoid; researchers did a test on folks imigrating to english speaking countries. Those who did not speak English at all, found the word "diarrhea" to be the single most beautiful word in English (so long as they did not know what it meant!) and it is very mellifluous if ou think about it.

Hm. This will require research, because it occurs to me I'm not 100% clear why horse shoes exist.
Though they WERE playing with horseshoes in that one episode... and they did match AJ and Dash's colors.
EDIT: If Wikipedia is to be believed, I think the settled conditions the ponies live in WOULD necessitate horse shoes, at least for working ponies like Applejack. Wiki says that horses travel great distances regularly in the wild, which toughens the hoof, and also that horses normally travel relatively slowly, which means less strain on the hoof.
Kicking apple trees with your hind legs is not a low stress activity, and they have settled lives where they aren't walking 50 miles a day.
So wearing horse shoes might be the equivalent of wearing steel toed boots. If you're working, it's smart. If you aren't working, people will look at you funny.

Unicorn: Trixie
Pegasus: Skyfire
Earth Pony: ???
Basically, I need an Earth pony to fill that last slot out. It can't be one of the mane six, should be fairly athletic, and it shouldn't be a filly.

My Little Pony: The Thread: The Game: Phoe's Return: Rainbow Dash and the Seven Evil Bronies.
Once upon a time, there was a pony thread, verdant and fertile, a place of speculation and fanart, fanfiction and polite bantering. This was where PhoeKun met Rainbow Dash, the love of her life. Yet, the two of them couldn't admit that they loved each other, and so they lived comfortably, each waiting for the other to admit the terrible truth. They never got the chance.
Because something happened that nopony could have forseen: the season ended. In the cataclysmic collapse of all bronydom, PhoeKun and Rainbow Dash were separated, and the last thing Phoe saw of Rainbow was of her being pulled away by gale-force winds. Then, Phoe was bound by stone, and all she knew for a hundred years was darkness.
But a hero can't be imprisoned forever, and now Phoe is free - but for a given value of free. Her stone chains have now been imbued with the power of Faust, making the Celestial Bindings, weapons of terrible bondage power. She'll need them. Because the thread she has returned to is not the thread she left. There is evil there that does not sleep, that does not relent, and she'll have to exorcise it all if she wants to save her beloved Rainbow Dash.
EsperDerek, The Cowardly Sidekick
The first of the Evil Bronies, EsperDerek is actually merely chaotic neutral and pretending to be evil to survive in the corrupt darkness of the ruined pony thread. Upon being defeated in the tutorial boss fight, EsperDerek will swear loyalty to Phoe and follow her around, dispensing helpful information and helping (badly) in mook fights. However, once you've gotten attached to him, he'll get killed in the third act to show that things have gotten serious.
Jahkaivah, Brony Zero
Secretly a Pony Core on the run from the intergalactic police, the only way to defeat Brony Zero is to attract the attention of the patrolling Atraxi spaceships via the Zero Virus, thus disposing of him. But be careful - his Valvetic attacks and zealous love of all things pony make him a difficult opponent on your quest to complete the Zero Virus.
Trixie, The Caretaker of the OP
Trixie was once one of Phoe's friends, but the hundred years of darkness and evil have corrupted her, turning her into the Third of the Evil Bronies. The only way to find the prison in which Rainbow Dash is held helpless is to search through the labyrinthine records of the ruined OP - but the Vashta Nerada are lurking within the shadows, and Trixie's mind is completely gone, making for a crushing emotional moment when Phoe is forced to bind and gag her to stop her from activating the OP Self-Destruct.
Darthbobcat, The Cyclopean Falcon
Darthbobcat was once one of Phoe's fellow Knights of the Fanfic, but now has gone utterly mad in his fight against corruption, seeing Phoe herself as evil for her wielding of the Celestial Bindings, calling her another one of HER lackeys. The ensuing battle is difficult, as Darthbobcat's flying ability is second to none, and he can shoot RAINBOWS OUT OF HIS EYE. AND LIGHTNING BOLTS FROM HIS BUM. However, Phoe is finally able to defeat him, leaving him muttering about fighting the corruption, fighting until his last breath. Worried, Phoe must continue on, for only when the thread has been purged of its evil can Darthbobcat rest in peace.
Raz_Fox and Thanqol, the Impish Demon and the Demonic Imp
Identical but for their masks - a grinning red-white fox mask and a terribly blank iron-grey mask - these two Knights of the Fanfic have been utterly corrupted by the evil of the thread, and seem to move as one entity. Also, they wear awesome longcoats and top hats. They proceed to fatally injure EsperDerek and battle Phoe in a SYMPHONIC METAL DUEL. Failure to bind both at the same time results in a punishing attack from the unbound enemy, and the revification of the bound enemy. Phoe is finally able to perform a guitar solo that knocks both their masks off, causing their empty jackets to crumple to the ground. After a heart-breaking scene with the dying EsperDerek, she continues on into the crashed starship SHI PIP ENG, across the ruins of Darthbobcat's beloved Bifrost.
Lix Lorn, The Bondage Queen
The interior of SHI PIP ENG is covered in obscene tentacles and advanced binding attacks, which Phoe must face alone, before coming face-to-face with the evil's final vessel - Lix Lorn, her former roommate, who has been consumed utterly by evil. What's worse, Lix Lorn not only has Rainbow Dash as a prisoner, but the souls of the six defeated Bronies, who she commands to fight for her. After a grueling boss run, Phoe attacks Lix Lorn, only to be defeated by Lix's ULTIMATE BONDAGE ATTACK. Gagged, bound and helpless, Phoe is only saved by Rainbow Dash's last-second Sonic Rainboom. However, this is too much for the weak, starving Rainbow Dash, who collapses at Phoe's hooves, utterly spent. Phoe stands back up, and the ensuing boss fight is truly epic, with the purity of Phoe's Celestial Bindings set against Lix Lorn's shapeshifting abilities and Rainbow: Fandom Bicycle spellcards.
The ending depends on how mercifully Phoe treated her enemies, how many innocent fandom members she rescued and cured, and how much of the thread she was able to heal using her ED powerset. In the Bad Ending, Phoe takes up Lix Lorn's mantle and proceeds to become a great and terrible Bondage Princess, thrusting the thread into another hundred years of darkness. In the Normal Ending, she walks alone out of the fortress as sad music begins to play, tears running down her cheeks as she prays for Lauren to bring Season 2 soon. In the Best Ending, Rainbow Dash is revived by Phoe's sexy-awesome power and the purified versions of the Seven Evil Bronies show up to thank Phoe for saving the thread, and they all walk out together, laughing as the camera pans up into the sunrise.

Raz_Fox and Thanqol, the Impish Demon and the Demonic Imp
Identical but for their masks - a grinning red-white fox mask and a terribly blank iron-grey mask - these two Knights of the Fanfic have been utterly corrupted by the evil of the thread, and seem to move as one entity. Also, they wear awesome longcoats and top hats. They proceed to fatally injure EsperDerek and battle Phoe in a SYMPHONIC METAL DUEL. Failure to bind both at the same time results in a punishing attack from the unbound enemy, and the revification of the bound enemy. Phoe is finally able to perform a guitar solo that knocks both their masks off, causing their empty jackets to crumple to the ground. After a heart-breaking scene with the dying EsperDerek, she continues on into the crashed starship SHI PIP ENG, across the ruins of Darthbobcat's beloved Bifrost.

The interior of SHI PIP ENG is covered in obscene tentacles and advanced binding attacks, which Phoe must face alone, before coming face-to-face with the evil's final vessel - Lix Lorn, her former roommate, who has been consumed utterly by evil. What's worse, Lix Lorn not only has Rainbow Dash as a prisoner, but the souls of the six defeated Bronies, who she commands to fight for her. After a grueling boss run, Phoe attacks Lix Lorn, only to be defeated by Lix's ULTIMATE BONDAGE ATTACK. Gagged, bound and helpless, Phoe is only saved by Rainbow Dash's last-second Sonic Rainboom. However, this is too much for the weak, starving Rainbow Dash, who collapses at Phoe's hooves, utterly spent. Phoe stands back up, and the ensuing boss fight is truly epic, with the purity of Phoe's Celestial Bindings set against Lix Lorn's shapeshifting abilities and Rainbow: Fandom Bicycle spellcards.
The ending depends on how mercifully Phoe treated her enemies, how many innocent fandom members she rescued and cured, and how much of the thread she was able to heal using her ED powerset. In the Bad Ending, Phoe takes up Lix Lorn's mantle and proceeds to become a great and terrible Bondage Princess, thrusting the thread into another hundred years of darkness. In the Normal Ending, she walks alone out of the fortress as sad music begins to play, tears running down her cheeks as she prays for Lauren to bring Season 2 soon. In the Best Ending, Rainbow Dash is revived by Phoe's sexy-awesome power and the purified versions of the Seven Evil Bronies show up to thank Phoe for saving the thread, and they all walk out together, laughing as the camera pans up into the sunrise.

Maybe a simple "As I planned" or "I know" after Fluttershy points out she has room to brace herself now. As it is, it seems like it's just some goofy something to do while trapped. If that's what it was, well then I guess it's a good job then.

Overall: I'm interested to see how it ends/where you take this thing. I can see a few different possible endings, some certainly better than others. Once the whole thing is done, I think I'll re-look over this part. There's still something bothering me about it, but I don't think I can place it without seeing the whole thing.

Incidentally, a thing. A deranged, crazy thing I did for no good reason.
My Little Pony: The Thread: The Game: Phoe's Return: Rainbow Dash and the Seven Evil Bronies.
Once upon a time, there was a pony thread, verdant and fertile, a place of speculation and fanart, fanfiction and polite bantering. This was where PhoeKun met Rainbow Dash, the love of her life. Yet, the two of them couldn't admit that they loved each other, and so they lived comfortably, each waiting for the other to admit the terrible truth. They never got the chance.
Because something happened that nopony could have forseen: the season ended. In the cataclysmic collapse of all bronydom, PhoeKun and Rainbow Dash were separated, and the last thing Phoe saw of Rainbow was of her being pulled away by gale-force winds. Then, Phoe was bound by stone, and all she knew for a hundred years was darkness.
But a hero can't be imprisoned forever, and now Phoe is free - but for a given value of free. Her stone chains have now been imbued with the power of Faust, making the Celestial Bindings, weapons of terrible bondage power. She'll need them. Because the thread she has returned to is not the thread she left. There is evil there that does not sleep, that does not relent, and she'll have to exorcise it all if she wants to save her beloved Rainbow Dash.
EsperDerek, The Cowardly Sidekick
The first of the Evil Bronies, EsperDerek is actually merely chaotic neutral and pretending to be evil to survive in the corrupt darkness of the ruined pony thread. Upon being defeated in the tutorial boss fight, EsperDerek will swear loyalty to Phoe and follow her around, dispensing helpful information and helping (badly) in mook fights. However, once you've gotten attached to him, he'll get killed in the third act to show that things have gotten serious.
Jahkaivah, Brony Zero
Secretly a Pony Core on the run from the intergalactic police, the only way to defeat Brony Zero is to attract the attention of the patrolling Atraxi spaceships via the Zero Virus, thus disposing of him. But be careful - his Valvetic attacks and zealous love of all things pony make him a difficult opponent on your quest to complete the Zero Virus.
Trixie, The Caretaker of the OP
Trixie was once one of Phoe's friends, but the hundred years of darkness and evil have corrupted her, turning her into the Third of the Evil Bronies. The only way to find the prison in which Rainbow Dash is held helpless is to search through the labyrinthine records of the ruined OP - but the Vashta Nerada are lurking within the shadows, and Trixie's mind is completely gone, making for a crushing emotional moment when Phoe is forced to bind and gag her to stop her from activating the OP Self-Destruct.
Darthbobcat, The Cyclopean Falcon
Darthbobcat was once one of Phoe's fellow Knights of the Fanfic, but now has gone utterly mad in his fight against corruption, seeing Phoe herself as evil for her wielding of the Celestial Bindings, calling her another one of HER lackeys. The ensuing battle is difficult, as Darthbobcat's flying ability is second to none, and he can shoot RAINBOWS OUT OF HIS EYE. AND LIGHTNING BOLTS FROM HIS BUM. However, Phoe is finally able to defeat him, leaving him muttering about fighting the corruption, fighting until his last breath. Worried, Phoe must continue on, for only when the thread has been purged of its evil can Darthbobcat rest in peace.
Raz_Fox and Thanqol, the Impish Demon and the Demonic Imp
Identical but for their masks - a grinning red-white fox mask and a terribly blank iron-grey mask - these two Knights of the Fanfic have been utterly corrupted by the evil of the thread, and seem to move as one entity. Also, they wear awesome longcoats and top hats. They proceed to fatally injure EsperDerek and battle Phoe in a SYMPHONIC METAL DUEL. Failure to bind both at the same time results in a punishing attack from the unbound enemy, and the revification of the bound enemy. Phoe is finally able to perform a guitar solo that knocks both their masks off, causing their empty jackets to crumple to the ground. After a heart-breaking scene with the dying EsperDerek, she continues on into the crashed starship SHI PIP ENG, across the ruins of Darthbobcat's beloved Bifrost.
Lix Lorn, The Bondage Queen
The interior of SHI PIP ENG is covered in obscene tentacles and advanced binding attacks, which Phoe must face alone, before coming face-to-face with the evil's final vessel - Lix Lorn, her former roommate, who has been consumed utterly by evil. What's worse, Lix Lorn not only has Rainbow Dash as a prisoner, but the souls of the six defeated Bronies, who she commands to fight for her. After a grueling boss run, Phoe attacks Lix Lorn, only to be defeated by Lix's ULTIMATE BONDAGE ATTACK. Gagged, bound and helpless, Phoe is only saved by Rainbow Dash's last-second Sonic Rainboom. However, this is too much for the weak, starving Rainbow Dash, who collapses at Phoe's hooves, utterly spent. Phoe stands back up, and the ensuing boss fight is truly epic, with the purity of Phoe's Celestial Bindings set against Lix Lorn's shapeshifting abilities and Rainbow: Fandom Bicycle spellcards.
The ending depends on how mercifully Phoe treated her enemies, how many innocent fandom members she rescued and cured, and how much of the thread she was able to heal using her ED powerset. In the Bad Ending, Phoe takes up Lix Lorn's mantle and proceeds to become a great and terrible Bondage Princess, thrusting the thread into another hundred years of darkness. In the Normal Ending, she walks alone out of the fortress as sad music begins to play, tears running down her cheeks as she prays for Lauren to bring Season 2 soon. In the Best Ending, Rainbow Dash is revived by Phoe's sexy-awesome power and the purified versions of the Seven Evil Bronies show up to thank Phoe for saving the thread, and they all walk out together, laughing as the camera pans up into the sunrise.

Well, you've seen the famous fight Will vs Jack Sparrow fight scene in the first Pirates of the Caribbean, correct? The way Jack uses his broken manacles as a method of disarmament? It'd be the same basic principle here. Phoe/Shimmer/Whatever name she/I/whatever has in this game spends most of the time not in cutscenes dragging around heavy chains strapped to each of her forelegs. By thrusting or twisting or swinging those legs, either on their own or by more intricately using the rest of her body, she would be able to strike enemies with those chains and cause them to wrap and bind. There'd be a variety of such attacks, either wrapping around a leg and allowing a trip, or extending the length of the chains via magic to allow for more restrictive bindings. In such cases the goal is largely to incapacitate targets long enough to apply the rest of her inventory to them and Bondage them up properly. If you're going for the Bad Ending or are dealing with a fight against hostile and irredeemable enemies (animated objects, shadow demons, Thanqol), then they are obviously also capable of being implemented as bludgeoning, whip-like weapons.
I got nothin' on enemies, though. You'd have to talk to Honest Raz_Fox.

For me, I have learned that answer to that game is "be careful what you wish for." Much like the absolutely visceral reaction I had to Thanqol's live reading of Chasing Rainbows, I have found I am simply never emotionally prepared to have the details of my stories presented to me filtered through different media. And sometimes this can cause... problems.
But I'll call it now anyway: no. I did not warrant an inclusion in this Friendoff.
