I love pictures that seem to imply a story, but I've been unable to remember/find any lately. What paintings/drawings/illustrations/photos have inspired a story in you? I'm not looking for anything in particular, just interested in what people have to say/show on the subject.

This one (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t288/Vaarsuvius89/someoneisfighting.png) from a certain anime got me thinking of a story I'd like to work on one day. Or rather a scene I'd like to incorporate into a story.

Although... this is a screenshot FROM an existing story, so I don't think it's quite where you were headed. Is that the sort of thing you meant?

See if you can find a copy of the book The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Allsburg. Pretty much all it is is pictures that imply stories.

Those are pretty incredible there. Also, Keith Thompson is awesome. Viraemia is my favorite of his, definitely, story and picture.
