What's the cheapest way for me to buy an item that effectively gives me Improved Unarmed Strike?

Do you just want it to be considered armed when not using weapons, or do you want it to qualify for feats? The former can easily be gained with gauntlets.

What I want to do is not provoke with when attacking with my fists and have it still count as a natural weapon.

Ring of Might (Magic of Faerun p. 146) 4,000 GP.
Bracers of Striking (Magic of Faerun p. 155) 1310 GP.

Thanks, I couldn't find anything cheaper than the fanged ring. And eating up half my WBL isn't exactly a great idea.

Ring of Might boosts your unarmed damage to 1d8 (and is thus better than fanged ring unless you have monk unarmed dice or the like), and works like the Phantom's evil mark ring.

Bracers of Striking can be enchanted as a (double) weapon.

Both pretty decent options.
