I'm sorry I'm new to this site so I apologize. I'm also still fairly new to DnD. Only 2 years of play but first time making a Psion Class.

I have a lack of information and nothing I have is helpful. I just need a basic 3.5 Psion guide similar to those set up in the first Players Handbook. I'm not saying to just tell me everything. But if you have a simple guide I was wondering if you may share it with me.

Thank you again for any help you may be able to give me relating to the Psion 3.5 rules.

Well, the online SRD has a nifty little setup right here (http://www.d20srd.org/)

If you're looking for a quick rundown, here's how psionics works:

Instead of spells per day, you have power points per day. Every power costs points, and the base cost is simply (SPELL LEVELX2-1) (So a 2nd level spell costs 3, 3rd costs 5, etc).

This makes you a bit more flexible than normal casting, since it means that instead of casting a 3rd level power you can cast five 1st level powers.

You can also spend UP TO YOUR CASTER LEVEL in additional power points on a spell, this has effects as outlined in the spell description. This is where Psionics is actually a little bit weaker; instead of Fireball dealing 1d6 per caster level, it'll usually deal 1d6 per PP, so combat drains you pretty quickly.

The other major difference is the existence of Psionic Focus. Psionic Focus is gained by using an action to make a concentration check. I think by default it's a full round, but with a feat it becomes a move action.

Once you're Psionically Focused, you keep it forever. It's like wearing a hat. Takes a moment to put on, and nothing to maintain. Some psychic feats require Psionic Focus, others expend it. For example. Metamagic (or rather, metapsionics) causes you to expend your Psionic Focus. So once you've cast Maximized Psychic Fireball, you're unfocused, and will have to make a fresh concentration check if you want to focus it again. Metapsionics requires you to fling your hat at the enemy, like that butler from James Bond.

Other feats require it, but don't expend it. Like wearing a hat at a party; you don't USE UP the hat by looking cool. You just look cool as long as you're wearing the hat.

Wow glad to know I am a noob in not finding that. Thank you so much this is amazing help. Anyone with additional info is welcome. But I believe this covers pretty well everything. Anyways once I learn this much I'm sure It will be easier to get more complicated in time.

Thanks again.

Just as an aside: When you actually want to build your psion, these (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=10238.0) links (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19537882/What_Is_the_Most_Powerful_Psionic_Power) will help.

Hey, no worries. I was lucky enough to find the SRD right after I started playing, and it's amazing. Better than the PHB in some ways, since it has hyperlinks. You can be looking at a spell and see that it gives a bonus to Grapple and then instantly pull up the grapple rules.

It sounds like you've got all the help you need, I just wanted to reiterate one thing. The single most important rule of psionics and manifesting. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicPowersOverview.htm#powerPointLimit)

The maximum number of points you can spend on a power (for any reason) is equal to your manifester level.

Its important enough to bare repeating, as it is what most people miss to think that psionics are overpowered.

Enjoy your psion!

So, I heard there is this one rules about psionics...something about not being able to spend more points on a given manifestation than your manifester level. I can't seem to find this rule though. Could someone point it out for me?

I keed I keed!

Read this! (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10635999&postcount=2) I think this is one of the best guides to learn psionics that has ever been written.
