Mmmkay, I'm working on twinking out a Dread Necromancer's Fear Aura to make him quite difficult to hit in melee. I found an interesting combo, and wanted to bounce this off the forums and see if it does what I think it does.
Basically, at 12th level, he uses his Advanced Learning to pick up Aura of Terror. He's already got Alternate Spell Source/Southern Magician, and DMM: Persist at this point. This gives him a 15' radius fear aura with a +2 to DC and increases from Shaken to Frightened on a failed Will save.
Now then, does being in this fear aura cout as being within the area of the Aura of Terror? Because I had a really obnoxious idea, one that involves tacking on Flashfrost so that it also does 1 point of cold damage, and Fell Frighten. Since Fell Frighten doesn't say that it doesn't stack, then it would bump Frightened up to Panicked, and even if they *MAKE* the save, they're still Shaken.
So DMM Persist Flashfrost Fell Frighten Aura of Terror... does that sound like fun anyone?
