[Star Wars Saga Edition] Character Concept

Me and my friend intend to be players in a Star Wars game soon. One idea we have for our characters is to be a Mon Calamari male and Quarren female married couple (and my Mon Cal friend is leaning towards being a Jedi...). If anyone has any good ideas about this character concept, they would be appreciated. Since we don't know if we're playing a Knights of the Old Republic, or The Force Unleashed game (that will be up to the GM), ideas from both those will be really appreciated. We have questions like:

1.) How did the Mon Cal Jedi and Quarren meet up?

2.) How did they fall in love?

3.) Should my Quarren have an untrained Force talent?

This would be "star-crossed lovers" as Mon Cal and Quarren hate each other. The Quarren supported the Seperatists in the Clone Wars and the Empire in the Galactic Civil War, and it's their species that enslave the Mon Cal for much of history.
