Is there anything that prevents a bipedal creature from being a mount?

In relation to that: what actions does a mount get?

If there is nothing stopping a bipedal creature from being a mount and it gets as many actions as its rider... well the conclusion would be obvious for the next campaign I'll be a player in.

Carrying capacity is different for a bipedal vs quadrupedal (or more) creature. A (large) horse can carry three times as much as a bipedal creature of the same strength. You do the math!

According to A&EG, some Goblins have "ridden" into battle on Ogres. The Goblin sits in a cradle hanging from the Ogres back. The Ogre fights in melee, the Goblin fights at range against anyone behind it.

Besides that, though, I've heard nothing useful about this.

Bipedal creatures could fall into the realm of being 'Ill suited as a mount.' This imposes a -5 to the riders Ride check.

The rules are abit strange. I mean, there's nothing stopping you from riding a water and/or air elemental, as both are perfectly corporeal.

I... Don't exactly think that would be very comfortable. O.o
