I'm playing a game with access to some of the newer developments in technology (magitech, or whatever)
how much would the following cost?
-audio recoder
-camera (B+W&colour)
-telescopic lens
-video recorder
-film&tapes

Also how would photography work as a skill check?

If you go by the Urban Arcana rules for D&D to D20 modern conversion, 1 GP is roughly equal to $20. This should give you a good starting point for determining item costs.

As for photography, I would treat it similarly to other artistic skills such as painting and sculpting, and have it as a subset of Craft, i.e. Craft (photography).

Okay it says Purchase DC, is that the same as price in dollars?

No, the Purchase DC is not the price of the item, but there are conversion charts on pg. 204 of the D20 Modern handbook and pg. 145 of the D20 Future handbook.

Since you mention magitech, I will mention the 'recording spheres' from Final Fantasy X, which AFAICT were basically one-shot videocameras.

(That's no help with pricing, but an option for how to 'fluff' it. A spherical sense which can record up to X minutes of sight/sound within Y feet of it, after which you can use the sphere to replay the footage.)
