Playground, I turn to you for help because I want to minimize Internet time like this.

I run Kaspersky antivirus on my computer, and earlier today it updated. That was fine, except that the computer crashed and I was forced to do a hard shutdown. Since then, the databases (specifically the black list) are apparently corrupted. Updates have failed: the updates are small (half a kilobyte) and don't fix the issue. I tried a rollback, but that also failed for no clear reason. Since then, my computer has crashed twice, and both times remained crashed for about five minutes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't say what might be causing the crashes. As for Kaspersky, I'd suggest clean uninstalling it and then reinstalling from scratch.

+1 if you can get to kaspersky's site, they should have a force uninstaller. Which can be found Here (http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208279463). That may work better than windows installed if some files are corrupt.
If you get a BSOD, try and copy the error code, it will be a "0x00000000" at the bottom of the page. Also what ever it says at the top of the page. That onee will be plain text. See image below :P
