Background- My players, as well as myself, really love Draconic Heritage feats. However, something that has us all pretty PO'ed is that apparently sorcerers are the only ones with rights to get them. As such, I'm introducing a few new Draconic Heritage feats for all the boys and girls out there who don't want to have to pick up a level of sorcerer in order to take a Draconic Heritage feat.

Dragon Child[Draconic]
Prerequisite: Positive Charisma modifier
Benefit: You gain the Dragonblood subtype. Choose one type of dragon from the list of dragons for the Draconic Heritage feat. This is your draconic ancestor, your draconic heritage which cannot be changed short of going through the Rite of Draconic Affinity. Half-Dragons must choose the same type of dragon as their parents.

When you choose your Draconic Heritage, you gain the skill associated with the dragon as a class skill. Also, you gain a bonus equal to the number of Draconic Heritage feats you have on saves against magic sleep and paralysis effects. Lastly, you gain energy resistance equal to 3 x the number of Draconic Heritage feats you have for the type of energy associated with your Dragon. Should your dragon not have a type of energy associated with it, and instead has another type of effect associated with it, you instead gain a bonus to saves against that type of effect equal to the number of Draconic Heritage feats you have. This feat counts as the Draconic Heritage feat for the purposes of qualifying for feats and prestige classes.

Draconic Rage[Draconic]
Prerequisite: Draconic Heritage, ability to Rage
Benefit: When you rage, you not only get in touch with the primal savagery of the members of your race, but also that of your draconic ancestor. When raging, your attacks deal an additional 1 point of energy damage equal to twice the number of Draconic feats you have. Additionally, when someone aims a melee attack at you while raging, you deal 1 point of energy damage per Draconic feat you have to your attacker, regardless of whether or not the attacker succeeds. Energy damage dealt by this feat is the same as the type associated with your draconic ancestor. If your draconic ancestor has no type of energy associated with it, you deal fire damage with this feat.

Dragonsong[Draconic]
Prerequisite: Draconic Heritage, Bardic Music
Benefit: You know how to make your songs innate expressions of spells you know. You may sacrifice one use of Bardic Music in order to cast a spell you know of level equal to or lower than the bonus granted by Inspire Courage.

Dragon Strike[Draconic]
Prerequisite: Draconic Heritage
Benefit: When using a melee weapon to attack, you may choose to have your attack deal an additional 1d6 energy damage per Draconic Heritage feat you have. Energy damage dealt by this feat is the same as the type associated with your draconic ancestor. If your draconic ancestor has no type of energy associated with it, you deal fire damage with this feat. After using this feat, you may not do so again for 1d4 rounds.
Special: Fighters may select this as a fighter bonus feat.

Dragon Spell[Draconic. Metamagic]
Prerequisites: Draconic Heritage, ability to cast spells
Benefit: When applying metamagic feat effects to spells with the descriptor associated with your draconic ancestor, you may apply a number of spell levels equal to 1/2 the number of Draconic feats you have worth of metamagic feat effects to that spell. This cannot reduce the effective spell level of the spell to less than its orginal spell level.

Magic in the Blood[Draconic]
Prerequisites: Draconic Heritage
Benefit: You might not know how to actually cast spells, but you do have some arcane power within you. When qualifying for feats and prestige classes, you count as being able to cast arcane spells of level equal to the highest level spell a sorcerer of level equal to 1/2 your level + the number of Draconic feats you have could. Additionally, you count as being able to cast any spell of the descriptor associated with your draconic ancestor for the purposes of qualifying for feats or prestige classes, so long as the required spell does not exceed the highest level spell that a sorcerer of level equal to 1/2 your level + the number of Draconic feats you have could cast. Should a prestige class give you additional levels in a spellcasting class when you do not have any, you instead gain one level of Sorcerer spellcasting, although you do not receive any of the other benefits of the class.

Draconic Spelluser[Draconic]
Prerequisites: Draconic Heritage, Magic in the Blood
Benefit: You may not know how to actually cast spells, but your Draconic Blood allows you to make use of some spell-like abilities. Select a number of spells whose combined spell levels do not exceed the number of Draconic feats you have from the Sorcerer spell list. You may cast each spell 1/day as a spell-like ability. You must choose spells that either have the same descriptor associated with your Draconic Ancestor or, at DM's option, that share a descriptor with a spell-like ability your Draconic Ancestor has. You can select a spell multiple times in order to be able to cast it an additional time per day. You may treat these spell-like abilities as spells for the purposes of Draconic Heritage feat effects, and may expend them in order to count as having expended a spell slot of level equal to the spell-like ability expended.

Dragon Fang
Prerequisites: Dragonblood subtype
Benefit: You gain a bite attack sized appropriately for a creature of your size. If you have access to Draconic Heritage feats, this attack deals an additional 1 point of energy damage per Dragonic feat you have. This energy damage is the same type as the kind associated with your draconic ancestor. If your draconic ancestor has no type of energy associated with it, you deal fire damage with this feat.

Draconic Enhancement[Draconic]
Prerequisites: Draconic Heritage
Benefit: You gain a +1 enhancement to any ability score of your choice for every two Draconic feats you have, and gain a bonus to skills involving ability scores you have enhanced this way equal to 1/2 the Draconic feats you have.

That's all for now. Please feel free to comment/PEACH.

Interesting. Have you ever seen the dragon disciple prestige class (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/prestigeClasses/dragonDisciple.htm)? Might be cool to make some feats equivalent to those class features and make the available as fighter bonus feats.

That I have, and actually Magic in the Blood is intended towards allowing non-caster Draconic children able to qualify for that class. Still, a lot of what is in that class is covered by the feats here + existing Draconic feats. However, it would require a lot of feat slots to actually do acquire the equivalent.

Also, thinking of switching Draconic Spelluser to make use of my recharge variant. Thoughts on this?

Changed Draconic Enhancement so that the bonuses can be distributed amongst multiple scores.

Ooh, nice. Always liked Draconic feats. Is Dragon Fang supposed to not have the [Draconic] tag?

I was going to have it have the [Draconic] tag, but I noticed that Dragon Tail and Dragon Wings didn't, so I decided not to give it that.
