Right, so, wondering if people have any recommendations of the best sources for the following things. I'm sure there's a half-million variations, but the Top 5 or whatnot would be handy.

1.) A guide for building a powerful, versatile Wizard in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.
That is, a guide to build the equivalent of the 3.5E Batman Wizard, one who's loaded for bear, ready for anything, and busting everything at the seams.

2.)Comparisons of Psionics and Wizardy-Style Magic
This one will probably draw mostly 3.5 examples, due to the comparatively short time Psionics Unleashed for PF has been out. That said, a Pathfinder comparison would be even better. I know there's metric tons of bits and pieces about how psionics isn't "broken omg!" compared to Vancian style; I'm again looking for the best examples. If there's stuff for a PF perspective, that's icing on the cake.

3.)Guides for other PF classes
This one's curiosity as much as it is anything. I've seen scattered examples, but...*Shrugs*

Treeantmonk has some good guides. He has one of Wizard, Druid, Ranger, Monk and Bard.

Treeantmonk has some good guides. He has one of Wizard, Druid, Ranger, Monk and Bard. While a somewhat handy reference, the lack of links made it a touch more difficult.

It is a solid guide, definitely in the vein of what I'm looking for.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Hi

1) Core Rulebook
2) Advanced Player Guide
3) Ultimate Magic

There's more than enough to keep you going. Probably too much info: aka "Too many abilities/feats, so few levels"!

Thanks

Paul HThat....isn't really what I was asking for. At all.

Suppose I'll just have to do more digging on my own...

Treantmonk's Wizard Guide (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/community-creations/treatmonks-lab/test) is here. Though do note that most of the 3.5-guides still apply under PF; most of the spells remain unchanged.

Hi

Sorry if you didn't understand my earlier reply.

The three books I mentioned have plenty of info on how to make uber powerful, possibly broken Wizard builds, and more than satisfy parts 1 & 3 of your original post.

If you're looking for specific types, then identifying which ones you need would be helpul. (I know you listed a Generalist Wizard good for anything).

Wizards in PF are far more powerful than their 3.5 variants. They never run out of Cantrips, they get special bonuses whether they specialise or not.

There are Racial specialities in the APG (pg 8), Archetypes in Ult Magic (pg 86), plus specialist variant classes such as:

Adv Players Guide
Alchemist: Mad bomber/potion maker
Summoner: As name suggests,
Witch: Uses hexes to boost arcane spells. Can even heal.

Ult Magic
Magus: Ftr/Mage single class. Mix magic with combat
Synthesist (Wizard Archetype): You 'become' your Eidolon!
Wizard: New wizard schools, such as Elementalist

I'd need far more time to list everything here, it would be easier if I knew which specific concept you were looking for.

Hope this answer was more appropriate
Thanks

Hi

Just a thought...

Tank:
Synthesist (Summoner Archetype)
Magus (Base Class)

Controller:
Witch (Hex user)
Summoner (Summon monster as std action)
Conjurer (Wiz Specialist. As it says, but spells like Create Spiked Pit as well)

Buff/Debuff:
Witch
Transmuter (Wiz Specialist. Buffs last longer)
Diviner (Wiz Secialist. Acts in surprise round, other situational stuff)

Damage:
Evoker (Wiz specialist. Extra damage on Evocation spells)
Alchemist (Base class. Creates bombs, potions, etc)

Hope this was specific enough
