I'm aware that Knight isn't the most crunch-worthy class, but for role-playing purposes, I'm going with one. I've also gimped my character by making him a Dwarven Knight (-2 to Charisma hurts when your main ability is Charisma based). But I'm having trouble picking my 1st, 3rd, and 6th level feats.

So here's my character sheet. Anyone have any suggestions?

That's gonna be tough... not only is Knight not overly good, your strength is low. I am unsure as to what you want this character to actually DO in combat, that might help me pick you some feats. Typically knights go reach weapon so they can threaten more area, because Bulwark of Defense is a good ability in spite of it not being a great class. I see you have an animated shield, so why do you use a one-handed weapon? Just curious.

That part you seem to have done partially right, with the animated shield. Use that and a reach weapon. I'd nix the dex and wisdom and try to get your strength higher... unless you rolled. Then I suppose you're in trouble. But you're going to have a LOT of trouble hitting reliably with a 13 strength, not to mention damage...

Shield Specialization (Heavy Shield) and Shield Ward, to raise your AC and Touch AC.

If you're in a heavy magic campaign I recommend going the Mage slayer route, so: blindfight, Mage Slayer and Pierce Magical concealment. Or if you go battle field control (using a reach tripping weapon like a guisarme): combat expertise, improved trip, combat reflexes.

I'm basically rolling out a Tank. I don't care so much about doing massive amounts of damage, as long as I can get the biggest enemy on the battlefield to focus on me.

That was a mistake on my part, I automatically assume the Warhammer was a two handed weapon without actually looking, I will change out that for a two handed weapon, preferably one with reach if I can find one that works for Role-Playing purposes.

Really, this character's biggest thing is the Role Play, but I want him to at least have a purpose in combat.

Shield Ward isn't a bad idea, actually.

I don't really know about feats, but you forgot the masterwork bonus on the warhammer. The total attack bonus should be +8/+3

Shield ward is a good feat, yes. I played a knight not long ago and was actually impressed: but there's a lot of traps to watch out for. Like I said, find a reach weapon, and you've got more options.

Avoid weapon focus like the plague, and toughness... shield ward is good, the mage slayer line is good... if you switch your int and wisdom, you could even make a halberd tripper.

I would use a halberd, BTW, because it's basically an oversized axe which fits with the dwarven theme.

Bulwark of Defense pairs wonderfully with Mage Slayer and you can take it at level 3, if your DM allows you to retrain some skill points into Spellcraft.

Power Attack is melee's best friend, but you may want to wait until your Str is higher, since you won't get much use out of it until you can hit reliably.

Weapon Focus might be a nice boost early on if your DM allows retraining of it later.

Are you married to the Knight? You can do a lot of the same tanking battlefield control stuff with the Dragonfire Adept (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20060912a&page=2), which your stat array is FAR better suited for. Handbook in case you're interested (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19870954/The_New_Dragonfire_Adept_Handbook!)

You can't go wrong with Law Devotion (http://www.realmshelps.net/cgi-bin/featbox.pl?feat=Law_Devotion) on a melee character. Solid, flexible bonus that scales wonderfully.

Would your DM allow to change your dwarf into a gold dwarf? This would at least removed the negative to your charisma and put on Dex which in't a big deal.

Get a reach weapon.
Feats:
combat expertise
improved trip
knock down (every time you do 10+ damage, you get a free trip, which you can then make another attack if that trip is successful)
combat reflexes
Power Attack (great way to turn to hit into damage when fighting big foes)
Ability Focus: taunt (should add +2 to taunt DC)

You want mithril mechanus gear as armor. It's a little over 10 grand, but it counts as medium armor, has 10 AC, and allows for +2 dex.
