Weapon Shattering

Theres a cleric in my campaign using the vow of peace and theres a question on the saving throws the weapons get when hitting him. Do the weapons get the saving throws of their owners or do they have their own?

The weapon uses its own saving throw bonus, which is 2 + the weapon's caster level (see here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicItemBasics.htm#damagingMagicItems)).

If the Vow of Peace weapon shattering effect were a spell that affected an object, the clause about objects and their owner's saving throws (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicOverview/spellDescriptions.htm#savingThrow) would come into effect, but I don't think that holds true for saving throws in general.
