I am currently playing in an Eberron campaign in which my party has just acquired an airship form House Lyrandar for services rendered.

Our party consists of an ogre frenzied berzerker,a Valenar Swift hunter (my guy) , a Valnar Druid, a warforged wizard/loremaster and a Sulatar drow warblade.

Now we just need a name for our new ship/mobile headquarters. I am open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance for any help given

What kind of an airship? Name is always a stylistic choice, after all. Something like "Mistral Arrow", "Zephyr", "Petrel" or "Windrider" or some such would work if it's a lean, fast machine but if it's more of a flying building-style, naming it after some mountain peak or such could make sense.

Serious or not fully serious, because I once named an airship "Polarity" so it could be reversed. The DM almost cried.

Indomitable, Invincible, Ragnarok, Ulysses, White Base (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8e8zUqP8yu4), Edelweiss, Sara's Tear...the decent names out there are innumerable. I like White Base though, but that's just the Gundam fan in me talking.

MAKE SENSE!

Think about it.

"What ship is that? Should we open fire?"

"She's one of ours, sir!"

"Oh, okay then..."

*"She's one of ours, sir!" begins firing*

"What the heck!? You said it was one of ours!"

"No, that's the name of the ship!"

*Facepalm*

It's more useful when dealing with vessels that are armed. In such a circumstance it's sure to buy you at least a surprise round.

C'mon, you're all roleplayers. You can roleplay perfect ignorance and foreshadow the inevitable at every turn to great amusement. Make sure your parachutes number less than one third of the passengers on board. You know who gets priority in the event of a ludicrous disaster that could never happen to your indestructible airship.

Get yourself a trapsmith (preferably working with your wizard) and name it Gygax's Workshop. No sane man would even consider entering it without a team of high-level rogues, and only then hesitantly...

Simply name it "Tucker" and have a Kobold for a figurehead.

In a current campaign, we have a boat called Bote.

SS Pazuzu Pazuzu Pazuzu might not work if Eberron has a different demonology.

If you have some Know:Arcana, you could probably make it the word for Power Word: Kill. Unfortunately, said word is 9 pages long.

However, I can't help if you don't want a funny/lulzy name.

Her Majesties Flying Ship Yo Mamma*.
*Yo Momma has an interesting etymology. It is a native term that refers to a fierce and cunning creature native to the southern jungles, hunted for sport only by those with an incurable death wish. Many of the tribes in these dank and vaporous regions revere it is a totem animal, and it is quite commonly reserved for those warriors of the epitome of skill and courage. Attaining a pelt or even a tooth from these legendary beasts, even without surviving the incident, is considered a mark of supreme prowess by gentlemen sporting clubs the whole globe over, and refers in no way to immediate matriarchal ancestors.
It is equally legendarily obese. . .like yo mamma.

"SS Pazuzu Pazuzu Pazuzu"

I tried to convince my group to let me name our airship this.

It didn't go over very well.

We ended up settling for "Iron Will".

What about something along those lines, like "Resplendent Hope"?

And to be stuck in a reincarnating time loop where the DM runs the exact same campaign over and over, but renames all the NPCs and advances the dates by a few hundred years?

You don't know character recycling until you get into David Eddings's books. There are 3 different men and 1 woman. Shannara was a pleasant reprieve when I was still searching for more fantasy to read.

I guess I figured that you couldn't go wrong with the guys who were successful enough to fill an annoyingly disproportionate amount of shelf space in the library.

My rogue became captain of a merchant ship that he named The Caveat Emptor. If the ship had flying capability, it would've been The Enterprise.

Tavern names can also make decent ship names. The Merry Widow. The Salty Dog. The Prancing (Sea)Pony. Etcetera.
