Hello everyone, I am running a dmpc drow wizard in a evil campaign with my friends. I need help with a direction for him. I want to do the evil spell caster feel but I am not sure how to.
Are there any feats or prestige classes that you would suggest, I have taken a variant from the Drow of the under dark book called abyssal mage ( all fear, darkness, evil, compulsion, and chaotic spells are treated as their own school.)
Any help would be appreciated but optimization is not a big deal in the group, about half are in it for the killing and the other are into the role playing side.

Well, I guess you should give both Book of Vile Darkness and/or Libris Mortis (the latter is 3.5) for some concept and ideas.

It's perfectly doable to make any sort of Wizard (or class actually) to be an evil bastard, it will just depend on your actions; however I think that few things define "evil magic" as well as necromancy, so it might be an option to focus on that (not necessarily to be a specialist) and go Pale Master or something.

But again, it's your actions and goals that will define you as "evil", you can be the bastard that punches the king and take the kingdom to himself or the even worse bastard who appears to be a nice guy and gains followers once to enslave them and use them for personal amusement or to make an army of undead.

You can also associate yourself with monstrous creatures, depending on your level, it's not hard to dominate a group of goblins and use them as your initial horde, which can be a fun starting point.

Also research demons and all the unholy rituals you can find, not sure if there are specific rules for that, but work with your DM which effects can be achieved through rituals (especially non-summoning rituals).

And last but not least, you ought to be the leader of your party, few things speak "evil" as well as a high intelligent, charismatic and rather arrogant leader who also knows his way around magic.

Necromancy and demon-summoning works, but it's rather cliché. You may want to try to make a manipulator or evil illusionist. Have him delight in causing primal fear in creatures and confusing them with his illusions, or to subdue their will with his own force of identity. It probably makes him feel very powerful to do these things, so you could have him a bit of a megalomaniac or sadist.

Probably would fit in with the weird dominatrix BDSM thing the drow seem to have going for them. :smalltongue:

Rouge Shadows that is why they invented the rules in complete arcane  .
Going of the illusion idea with fear has anyone tried the nightmare spinner class? Its all about fear and what not.
Thanks for the response everyone by the way. And a horde might be out as my friend is doing that with a cleric and some undead.

I'd do a focused specialist necromancer. Necromancy isn't one of the best schools, but it has lots of cool spells in it that won't take the attention away from the PCs.
