So, i've done something i've always wanted to do. I ordered Return to The Tomb of Horrors of amazon and am going to run the adventure with my players. So I have a couple questions though. First off, how close is it in deadlyness to the original ToH? Secondly, how would you rank this (1-10) and why (is it a good adventure basicly)? Third, is there any advice or things I should know before I run this? Thanks in advance

Probably a silly question, but you know it's 2E right? you can probably find some decent user made 3.X conversion documents online (assuming since you posted in the 3e/3.5e/d20 section).

I never actually ran the module, but I had a flip through it when it came out. At a glance, it doesn't look as deadly as the original ToH...but that's not saying much!

Return to ToH is updated.

I've ran it...actually, I ran an upgraded version, because my party was bigger than recommended, and I gave them an extra level each, and forewarnings to be paranoid.

Some rooms are lethal deathtraps, some clever traps were disarmed because my poker-face wasn't perfect (my players learned quickly what  means), and I did have one character commit suicide rather than progress further.

Some things just seem like cheap tricks, like the staff, or the green slime in the rocking room.

Others, are just nifty configurations. Try to keep from railroading and let them figure it out for themselves.

I know the first time I played it, I had a Warforged Barbarian with an Adamantine maul, and ended up just smashing it all down without finding the way in. Took until I DM'd the module to realize what I'd done.

Over-all I liked it, but some people see it as arbitrary cruelty on the DM's side.

I find it works well as a throw-away one-shot, like a broken up group gets together around christmas or something, but putting it into an established campaign gets...sticky.

Return to ToH is updated.
Are you sure? I was like 99% sure that it was 2E only...

Of course, its not like I just paid $60 without even checking if it was 3.X like i thought, ehehehe........ Would you have a link to any of those by chance? (the other one helped).

Enworld is usually the best source of user made conversions of earlier edition modules (I downloaded a really nice ToEE conversion guide from there one time).

The Conversion Library sub-forum got a little messed up by a forum upgrade a few years back, but if you have the time to search, I'd say it's your best bet:
