I've considered taking this feat for a while, but the only problem I have is that I'm a combat oriented Sorcerer (Fireball, Etc.). Probably not a good idea because of my lack of spells, but is there any way around this handicap besides choosing less combative spells?

Also, is it worth it even for Wizards? Or is the whole concept broken?

Well for most item creation feats you can supply the feat while someone else supplies the spell. I imagine this works for Craft Contingent Spell, so your limited spells known aren't that much of a hindrance.

I've found that when well utilized, Craft Contingent Spell is absolutely broken, just broken as in Wizard, not broken as in Truenamer. Your sorcerer shouldn't have any problem using it, as you can provide the feat and XP, with another caster providing the spell you want to use.

And yes, it's definitely worth taking. Think about it.

In the event of my death, Contingent True Resurrection.
In the event of my being subject of an attack, Time Stop.
In the event of my being subject of an attack, Disintegrate attacker.
In the event of my being subject of an attack, Teleport.
In the event of my being subject of an attack, Genesis.
Et cetera.

If you can't have fun with Contingency, you aren't trying hard enough. And the examples I listed above the bare minimum someone with Craft Contingent Spell would have. Get creative.
