21a Brother Cadfael, both as purely a creation of Edith Pargeter, AKA Ellis Peters and as Sir Derek Jacobi.
If you have read the books and/or watched the BBC show, you know this is a man of strength, conviction, honour and integrity, forgiving yet a seeker of justice, with a sense of humour to boot.

21: Master Xehanort (Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep)

He's like the Square Enix counterpart to Palpatine!
Come on, you can't deny the similiarities between the two of them.

All three of the heroes went down in the process of halting his plans, and even then he still won a partial victory, he got away with memory loss while the heroes are all either comatose, stuck in the Realm of Darkness, or without a body.

And then despite the amnesia his plans still continued to work like he wanted afterwards, despite his defeat and the heroes sacrifices he still won in a sense.

Took 10 years after that before he suffered a real defeat, but he recovered and is coming back for a rematch (Dream Drop Distance and Kingdom Hearts 3 better hurry up, i wanna see what happens next!)

He may be an evil bastard, but i can't help but admire the man.

Over 60 I would imagine given the usage of the word elderly (which usually refers to that age group).

That's good. "Old," in this case, means "looks old AND is of the Old or Venerable age category." So, yeah, thanks.

Does elderly necessarily mean degenerating? If not, I'm going to throw in a conditional 65: Mazer Rackham.

65. Vanion, leader of the Pandion Knights in David Eddings' Elenium and Tamuli books.

66. Druss, the legend, from Legend, by David Gemmel. He's old and kicking ass and taking heads with his axe. Also suffering from arthritis and various ills that come with old age.

67. Cohen The Barbarian. Like Conan, but 60 years later. He was the best, and despite his age, and he still is. Appears in various books by Terry Pratchett.

68. Sam Vimes, has been kicking ass for over 30 years and doesn't know how to stop. He has bit of a drinking problem in the early books. Also from Pratchett's Discworld.

69. Bruce Wayne, from Batman Beyond. He's old enough to have been force to retire from being batman, but Batman never was just about the muscle.

70. King Theoden in the Lord of the Rings was old and feeling it.

70. Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings was old, but I'm not sure if he felt it, being Dunedan and all.

71. Scrooge McDuck , depending on the stories. If nothing else, he's an awesome businessman, and in most stories he's incredibly fit for someone his age.

Rackam really qualifies

72: Hereticus Eisenhorn
73: Commodus Voke

Edited for numbers

Even if their age are to be taken with a grain of salt, seeing the Wh40k capacity to lengthen the life expectancy, these two can easily qualify as "old people" seeing what they've went through and how many times they had to e rebuilt.

[quote]70. Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings was old, but I'm not sure if he felt it, being Dunedan and all.

Given that he's got the physique of a normal man half his age (at most), it's fairly safe to say he probably doesn't 'feel it' at all.

80. Kallor (The Malazan Book of the Fallen) Okay technically immortal, but immortal in the way of not being able to die, he has not stopped aging, or swinging swords and taking names. (Hell, the guy turned an entire empire into ash just to spite the gods, every single man, woman and child. And spite them he did.)

81.Shadowthrone/Ammanas/Kellanved (The Malazan Book of the Fallen), Over 100 when he managed to become a god, still old obviously and kickass. Not quite in same way as Kallor, but more along the lines of fairly insane and probably has at least 5 decks of aces up his sleeves, along with another pair of sleeves.

82.Ezio Auditore (Assassins creed 2 and Brotherhood), Getting on the old side for his time period (the Renaissance) and still a master assassin that doesn't have enough common sense to slow down. (Apparently he's going on a pilgrimage to Maysaf in the upcoming game...) Even if he comments on "I'm getting to old for this" every now and then it doesn't seem to stop him one bit.

Conditional 83. Meandor (Age of Wonders) While young by elven standards in the first game.. and well not old-old by the thrid, he's still old enough to have manage to cause hell for humans, turn into legend, be forgotten, resurface, oh and during that time found a race. Yhea he's fairly kickass, but elves are near immortal by default in the game so he might not qualify.

And umm... most that would qualify for this list has been mentioned already, and the others... well characters like Methos may be 5000 years old but he doesn't look like it or act like it... and I'm not really willing to put anime characters on here since they don't accept the concept of age anyway.... especially not when the laws of their universe states it doesn't really apply to all of them. (Bleach anyone?)

84. Makarov from Fairy Tail, he's an 80 year old man who is concidered to be one of the strongest mages in the world who work for a legitimate guild.
85. Whitebeard from One Piece, the strongest man in the OP universe physically (which is saying something in and of itself) who goes down in an effort to save one of his crewmen from the executioner's block.
86. Shimon Bar-El from Not For Glory & Hero by Joel Rosenberg A disgraced member of the Metzadan mercenary corp, exiled for breaking a contract. He is still considered one of the best military minds for low technology warfare (semi modern or slightly below) in the universe. Hero details his character before the fall and Not for Glory details him afterwards, both are told from the viewpoint of his nephew, Tetsuo Hanavi, who might not see eye to eye with him on everything but certainly identifies with him in very real ways.

Aragorn was 87 at the start of the LotR, so he might not be at his prime any more. He died aged 210. If that's equivalent to a 90-year-old normal man, he was equivalent to a 37-year-old when the trilogy started. In any case, he'd feel it more than the various immortals already mentioned in this thread.

I said "past his prime", not "old". Not a good suggestion in a thread for elderly people, in hindsight. But then, isn't Gandalf the White technically reborn after Moria, making him a few years old at most when LotR ends! :D

Gandalf was already disqualified on grounds of his immortality, so a robot wouldn't work unless it was an old robot whose functionality was degrading....Yoda's actually legitimately old.
