Rizban, Elrihm, mrcarter11 or Dm only. All others will meet the taffy monster.

The three of you arrive in town, and Mord finds a cheap hostel for 3 copper a night called "Highway Robbery".

Does my Gather Info reveal anyplace else of interest?
As well, with the new XP, did we level? Or are we close?

I missed it. copy/paste the roll numbers here.

And so do I have enough to XP to level, or am I still level 6?

planswalker

what does Myth-weavers say when you put in your xp gains?

You find a place called Restful Haven for 1 silver a night.

mrcarter11
2011-07-19, 06:10 PM
Isten will first speak to Mord about staying at Restful Haven. and then will proceed to go there if Mord agrees.

Um,, I'll be honest, I've done a lot of PbP, never leveled up before. Myth has three XP related blanks, and I don't honestly know what they all mean. I'm not sure what my XP was before I leveled, or if it is just the 3800 that I just got. Nor do I know how much I need to level.

planswalker
2011-07-19, 06:17 PM
put the xp you gain in the xp change blank. It is automatically added to your xp. that's 2,800 for the pvp and 3,800 for the dungeon.

mrcarter11
2011-07-19, 06:27 PM
Alright thanks.. It says my next level is at 10k, which seems high, but in any case, that means I'm 3400 XP away.. And is Mord offline

Elrihm
2011-07-19, 06:27 PM
Your character starts out at 15000, and the next lvl is 21000.

Mord agrees to stay at the Restful Haven, it seems the better option, and goes in to secure two rooms near each other. When he comes out, he addresses Isten

"I'm gonna go get settled in and take care of some business out in the city. Feel free to come by to talk business or otherwise."

After a quick shake, Mord goes into his room, and continues in his private thread.

planswalker
2011-07-19, 06:36 PM
you should have your current xp set to 15000, then type 2800 inot the xp change blank, then type in 3800

mrcarter11
2011-07-19, 06:41 PM
Okay I did level then.. Moving on, plans can I continue in my personal thread as well, until I head back for the night?

"Well, we can talk business later, first thing, any ideas on what it is you want to do next?

Isten will first move into his new room and put on his new magical gear once that's done, he'll strike out on his own for a little tonight.

Elrihm
2011-07-19, 06:47 PM
"Well, I'm currently doing a job, but once that's done, I wouldn't mind finding one with you. I'm going to go talk to my employer, and then I'll talk to you in the morning. Have a good night, Isten."

mrcarter11
2011-07-19, 06:49 PM
"You too Mord, hope it goes well for you.

Isten will then do what is outlined in the post above. And continue in his personal thread from there.

Elrihm
2011-07-19, 09:46 PM
"Isten you there?"

mrcarter11
2011-07-19, 09:52 PM
"Yes Mord, I've recently returned. How was your business?

Elrihm
2011-07-19, 09:55 PM
"Uneventful, unfortunately. I was wondering if you were ready to start earning some money. Do you have any idea about what we could do? There have to be more ruins around, or people who need jobs done. I guess it depends on what you're comfortable doing."

BTW, its morning for me, if not, this needs to wait until you sleep.

mrcarter11
2011-07-19, 10:11 PM
"Well perhaps tomorrow you can look and try to find us a job or two. My abilities are a little of everything, I can handle most things in a passive manner. I've got two appointments for tomorrow, but after that, I'll be free. I'm gonna attempt to gain employment in the city. Come to think of it, exploring ruins does seem to go okay for me. What are you good at?

It's 11pm here. I got a sick girlfriend though, who I'm taking care off. And for the past 2 hours, I've just been building a class list for my houserules.

Elrihm
2011-07-19, 10:21 PM
No, I mean, for my character it's tomorrow morning. That conversation will happen after you sleep I guess. I'll be here when it's morning.

mrcarter11
2011-07-19, 10:31 PM
Well I did say in my private thread, I'd get there and sleep. So consider this morning, which means I'm gonna run. Isten has an appointment at 11.

mrcarter11
2011-07-20, 01:50 AM
Isten wakes in the morning after a good nights sleep and hurries off to his own appointment in the morning, within his own thread. OOC: Please post in my thread what happens when he gets there for the first one.

Elrihm
2011-07-31, 11:09 PM
"I've been fairly well Isten, not doing to much other than translating old tomes. I'm sorry to hear you took sick. What's brought you by, news of a ruin that needs plundering?"

mrcarter11
2011-07-31, 11:11 PM
"Not quite. I took up a normal job, however it hasn't started just yet. Thought I'd look up my friend and see how he was doing. Know of any good adventures we could go on?

Elrihm
2011-07-31, 11:13 PM
"Yeah, I've got myself a fairly normal job as well. Hmm, adventures...well, there is an old tomb outside of the city that I haven't explored, and there's always the royal tombs. That's all that comes to mind though."

mrcarter11
2011-07-31, 11:20 PM
"Whatever your up for friend. I'm working at the university by the way.

Elrihm
2011-07-31, 11:23 PM
"Yeah, so am I. I managed to find someone who needed my linguistic skills there. Why don't we start exploring that tomb outside of the city tomorrow? I need to take care of something today."

mrcarter11
2011-07-31, 11:25 PM
"Sound fine with Me. Are we still neighbors down at the hostel?

Elrihm
2011-07-31, 11:28 PM
"Sorry, never mind. We can go immediately if you'd like. I forgot I already took care of my business. And yes, we still live next to each other. Haven't really had much time to chat lately, though. Is there anything you need to do before we go?"

If not, Mord will lead the way to the other tomb that he heard about when he gathered information some time ago.

planswalker
2011-07-31, 11:31 PM
not the one you already went to?

Elrihm
2011-07-31, 11:33 PM
"Well, I do know of another, one that I managed to get into a fair amount of trouble in, we could go there. I certainly wouldn't mind getting a little revenge on the brain who lives there. I know that there are a number of undead there, including a mummy and a brain who will try to cast dominate person on us."

mrcarter11
2011-07-31, 11:35 PM
"If you mind giving some background knowledge, I'm up for revenge.

Elrihm
2011-07-31, 11:38 PM
"Well, this is a tomb with three corridors, of which I only explored one. In there I found 3 skeletons, 3 zombies, 2 allips (ghosts), a mummy, and the brain who dominated me for a time. The brain was shrouded in darkness by a magical item that I destroyed. Be warned, if you get caught in the dominate, there is nothing you can do to stop it."

mrcarter11
2011-07-31, 11:43 PM
"That does indeed sound quite bad. Are you sure you'd like to go back?

Elrihm
2011-07-31, 11:49 PM
"I certainly wouldn't mind. I did some research after, and the spell protection from evil can temporarily disrupt the effects of dominate person. Thus, if we cast that before, and kill him, there should be no fear of domination. I am more worried about the mummy at this point. If you feel like we can kill such a creature, then I say let us go."

mrcarter11
2011-07-31, 11:50 PM
"I've never fought such a beast. Are the difficult to kill?

You learn that mummies are always prepared to make your ouchies feel better. That why they always have so many bandages. :smalltongue:

Elrihm
2011-08-01, 12:11 AM
"Well then, my religion tutor always was a bit of a prankster. I think that we can take him though, given that we are immune to the physical touch of evil creatures for the duration of my protection spell. I'm ready to head out if you are."

Rizban
2011-08-01, 12:22 AM

Elrihm
2011-08-01, 12:38 AM
Oh no. Oh well, if I die, no biggee.

Mord will lead the way back to the tomb that he had previously explored.

mrcarter11
2011-08-01, 01:00 AM
Isten will follow.

planswalker
2011-08-01, 01:19 AM
The entrance to the tomb is dark and gloomy.

Elrihm
2011-08-01, 01:27 AM
Mord will pause, and cast darkvision on his companion, and alter himself to be a deep dwarf with darkvision out to 90, cast fly on himself, and then proceed down the same tunnel as before, taking the same route as before.

"Let me scout, I have greater range of my darkvision."

I'm guessing it's Isten's turn in the surprise round, and then we'll roll initiative?

Rizban
2011-08-02, 02:50 AM
As a DM, I've started just rolling initiative for all my PCs so that we don't spend a whole day just waiting on that. They seem to like it. I don't know if you'd want to do that or not, but I just thought I'd throw the option out there to let PW do it for you when combat starts.

mrcarter11
2011-08-02, 02:51 AM
It's fine with Me..

planswalker
2011-08-02, 07:31 AM
One of the skeletons goes first, walks up to Mord with the greataxe it has in hand, and by some twist of incredible unluck, swings it at just the wrong angle and Mord's innards take a nasty [roll0]

then it is Isten's then mord's turn.

Elrihm
2011-08-02, 11:16 AM
I don't suppose I'd be able to abrupt jaunt out of the way, since I could see it coming?

mrcarter11
2011-08-02, 12:49 PM
Isten drops back 15 feet and summons a construct. The thing appears with large muscles and an extra pair of arms. Isten directs it forward to attack the nearest enemy.

if you want to do that sort of thing, you'll have to tell me "if I am attacked, I'll use abrupt jaunt to get out of the way".

waiting until after I resolve the attack doesn't work, as you'd have to do the abrupt jaunt before the action actually resolves.

edit:

oh yeah, and that pulverizes the skeleton.

Hey, I'm gonna run away, I think. It was fun, but posting once a day, when that's rolling initiative isn't working for me. I think we're fine to run away, as they haven't seen us yet, and 3 of them are entangled. I also think zombies can't run, but I'm not sure. It was fun man, later.

mrcarter11
2011-08-03, 04:35 PM
I was gonna ask what your schedule was. I'll be honest, I work 3rd shift, so I do have issues posting sometimes, past that, I had something personal on monday to attend to.. I'm sorry bout that though.

Elrihm
2011-08-03, 04:39 PM
It's completely fine, I understand that you have your schedule, and that life happens. I generally post when I can, and rarely after twelve which is generally when you start. I'm not frustrated or anything, I just don't think this is working for me. Unfortunately I've already run away in my personal thread, but if your character needs anything, you know where to find mine.

planswalker
2011-08-03, 04:43 PM
elrihm, no, you don't just get to poof from here. Your post in your personal thread is being ignored until you resolve this with mrcarter11. Until I hear from him that it's cool that you're ditching him even though he's meeting avb's minimum standards, you don't get to force the teamup away by posting in your private thread.

Elrihm
2011-08-03, 04:46 PM
Ok, so let's resolve this. Mccarter, do you want to continue adventuring? I'd like to, but our schedules seem to be on an inverse. Can we make this work somehow? I usually go to bed around 1, or I try. I start posting around 12 and refresh the page throughout the day as I'm usually near my computer.

EDIT: You know what, it really doesn't matter to me that much. I can live with the way things are. I enjoy adventuring with Isten, and I can get over the posting rates. I'm fine to keep adventuring as long as mccarter wants to.

mrcarter11
2011-08-03, 11:50 PM
If you wish to leave you can, I totally understand. I'll continue the team up as well though if you wish. I enjoy working with you. See, my best time to post is in the late AM. I generally go to work around 10 pm and get off around 6 am.. Then I can post some.. Then sleep. Around 9am to noon is my best post time.. After noon I generally grab my girlfriend and spend the day with her.

Elrihm
2011-08-04, 12:11 AM
Alright, i think we can make that work, let's keep adventuring.

Elrihm
2011-08-04, 03:33 PM

planswalker

2011-08-04, 05:28 PM

these are not summoned, so the +2 ac is all you get.

We'll use the original roll.

Sadly, the two of you realize that the monster was faking it. In reality, the orb misses by a wide margin.

If you still want to turn back, we shall, but if you have most of your power unspent, then let us fell this beast."

Mord and Isten are each hypnotized and stare blankly at the two, listening to the mad babble.

They happen to approach closer to Isten than Mord and attack him six times before Mord regains himself. In that time, Isten takes [roll0] wisdom drain. If any of those rolls before the last one are enough to drop you to 0 wisdom, the remainder go to Mord.

Elrihm
2011-08-17, 12:23 PM
Mord will see if that was enough to drop Isten before deciding what to do.

The allips, being incorporeal and therefore immune to grapples, are unaffected by the tentacles. Your unconscious ally, though, is. Having run away from them, they seem content to babble and make passing swipes at Isten which even when they his can do no further harm.

Elrihm
2011-08-17, 10:56 PM
Mord will dispel the tentacles, and frown, while he contemplates his next actions.

Elrihm
2011-08-17, 11:00 PM
It is apparent that Mord can do no more here. While he doesn't have anymore damaging spells for today, the allips seem unable to actually kill him, meaning the brain will probably enslave him.

Mord vows to not abandon his friend, but acknowledges that no more can be done today. He will leave, sleep, and memorize new spells, hopefully to track down his friend, and rescue him.

Mord only has around a 100 gold on him, so he searches Isten for the remainder. If he can't find enough, he'll go pull some from a stash he carries elsewhere.

Once enough coin has been put together, Mord pays the priest.

Upon Isten's waking up, Mord says, "Goddamn ghosts, huh? That was a bit of a handful. Why don't we take a few days off, I know I don't have much of an urge to go back until I find some good ghost killing spell power."

Nope. Been doing RP work.. Trying to get another job actually. Think that's 2-4 total.. Getting cash together mostly.

Mord seems rather surprised his old friend managed to track him down, having rather abruptly left their hostel, but genuinely pleased to see Isten.

mrcarter11

And was hoping you'd be a character witness, if your willing to sign some papers saying you will, then the paperwork can get moved along faster.

Isten stands before a judge on the court date he mentioned to both of you. The judge has now asked if anyone can vouch for Isten. And he was indicated the two of you.. So now you guys can take it away.

Elrihm
2011-10-24, 07:17 PM
Sorry, I haven't checked the thread in a while.

The judge seems satisfied with this and the rest of the hearing goes apace. Two hours later, Isten is proudly clutching a set of papers that authenticate his citizenship.
