Okay, I have my fair share of minis, most of them are medium, small or large with one that it tiny and two of them are huge.

But I have an encounter coming up where I will need a gargantuan. :smalleek:

And I guess my stay-all enoumous mini, the beholder ultimate tyrant, is just not big enough.

No time to get another, any suggestions? I might get out my big green dragon, which isn't a mini but still pretty cool.

Same problem happened to a player of Pathfinder I play with on Thursdays. Actually I would be there but I'm ill.

Anyways he had no large mini's yeah so he used a top from those die holders to place a medium creature to show it growing to large size

You could use a object much larger than the PC's mini's a gargantuan creature is 4 x 4 squares so maybe you could use a glass or cup... i know its not as cool but its way bigger and w/a little imagination it'll do in a pinch!

4x4 squares. Okay, that is how big my dragon is, I think.

Might be too late, but put a peice of paper under a mini, the size of your Gargantuan creature.

Want something big and scary. But what I really wanted was also the number of squares a gargantuan creature was. That's helped a lot, thanks.

If I ever find an on-sale colossal dragon "mini", I must get it. Just having a piece of paper torn from a notebook and pruned to size doesn't have the same effect as A HUGE ****ING DRAGON sitting there next to their medium-sized minis.

This is the dragon I have.

It's cheaper than a Dragon mini, and looks awesome on the table. It's what I'll be using.

You mean this?

I got mine a couple of years ago... got lucky, it wasn't too much more than US $100. It was in the original packaging, too.

For reference, those claws are the right size to slip a medium sized mini into, and the base is 6x6 rather than the "normal" 5x5 for Colossal sized creatures.

Indeed. Which only makes it more awesome . I haven't had the chance to actually drop mine on a table yet :smallfrown:.

Yup, non-miniatures work. I've also made figures to suit a purpose - if you have clay you can sculpt your own, or rig something up out of cheap plastic toys from the dollar store.
Clay ulgurstasta (http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/6322/img6540p.jpg), and then painted (http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/6417/img6606i.jpg).

And the poor toys (http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/4371/img6542l.jpg) that gave their lives to make a froghemoth (http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/9121/img6607b.jpg).
For dragons, I bought several of the MacFarlane dragons (you can google image search them, they're pretty cool). If you need flavourful big dragons they're much less expensive than miniatures.

Sometimes you can get away with the paper on the grid if you've got some place to display an impressive image of what's being fought. Tends to be less bulky and expensive than the really big minis too.

That said, I do wish WotC had felt secure in releasing more of their Icons line. Not only is Orcus' base just the right size for the minimum Gargantuan creature, he's also the right size to use as a substitute for a villain's pet cat (or imp spy) when I feel like hamming it up. (And where's the fun in DMing without the ham?) But if I could get Demogorgon too, we're talking a very cool set of bookends.

(Then again, my Jubilex Juiblex Ooze Boy will always be represented by a gelatinous mass served in a parfait cup. Accept no substitutes.)
