In the DMGII, there is a special weapon ability called Sudden Stunning. All it costs is +2000gp. It allows you to (as a swift action) attempt to stun the target of a successful melee attack for 1d4+1 rounds. It offers a Reflex save to resist the stun, at a DC of 10 + 1/2 your level + your CHA mod. You can use the stun (CHA mod) times per day.

This seems too good to be true for just 2000gp. Granted most warrior types are unlikely to have high CHA, but can you imagine this in the hands of a Paladin, Bard, or Sorcerer-Gish?

Am I missing something with this?

Is the price +2000 gp or +1?

No, it really is just that good. There's a similar enhancement in the MIC (Stunning Surge, +1 equiv, only stuns for 1 round) that was probably intended as a replacement nerf, but since they didn't use the same name the replacement rule doesn't apply.

The ability was reprinted in the MiC as Stunning Surge, and is a +1.

Arguably, they didn't need to actually do that. Stunning is a very common immunity, and melee characters really need it (never mind that it's Cha-based).

A Sorcerer Gish has a vast number of other methods to do far worse things than just stun something. This enhancement isn't that powerful by comparison.
