If the Order of the Scribble never talked to each other after Serini proposed they all guard the gates separately and never contact each other again, how did Soon know how the other gates were defended?

they're prolly the way each member thought ~all~ the gates should be gaurded. dorukan wanted to protect all of them with spells, girard wanted to use illusions to hide them all, soon wanted a gaurd of paladins for all of them

so when they each agreed to defend one gate, soon assumed they each used the method they had argued for.

the only one this doesn't work for is serini, cause her defenses were set up to honor Kraagor

another thought is those are the only ways they ~could~ defend their gate: girard is a master of illusions, what else can he do?

Maybe he didn't know but guessed based on what he knew of the others' charcters - they adventured with each other for a while, so it's not unreasonable for him to have guessed how they'd go about defending them (especially as prior to Serini suggesting the split up plan they were argueing over how to go about defending the gates).

Also, Serini's plan involved them setting up a monitoring spell so that they'd know when one of the other gates was destroyed - maybe Soon found out when they were putting that in plce?

Alternatively, it's Shojo recounting the history - maybe he employed spies to find out what was going on at the other gates?

This makes sense. As for Serini, she probably just told them her plan after she proposed the idea, either through them asking, or as part of the peacemaking appeal.

In the very comic you cite, each one is telling the others how they think gates should be guarded. The purpose of Serini's compromise is that each one will guard his or her gate exactly as they've been saying they would.
