So, does glidin exist as a movement form in 3.5?

I've been through PHB, DMG, Rules Compendium, and had a small jaunt through the MM. I remember half-dragon saying something about gliding - in 3.0.

So is there anything around that would give me info on gliding? Does it function differently that flight?
I am specifically trying to circumvent needing light load or lower to fly at speed, but now I'm also just curious.

I believe that Raptorans, from Races of the Wild, can glide. Not sure what else.

Races of the Dragon have a gliding dragon type, I think in the dragonborn of bahamut race

Stormwrack has monkey people that can glide; Hadozee I think they're called. I think they can move 20 feet horizontally for every 5 feet they fall, with average mobility, but don't quote me on that.

Raptoran, Dragonborn, stormwrack monkeys. I will look into hose ASAP. Thanks for the help so far, folks. I'll check those as soon as my laptop is charged.

Here's hoping there's enough to extrapolate from.

FYI, Dragonborn is free as an exert.

Gliding is not considered a movement type; it is an extraordinary ability in 3.5.

A&EG has hang-gliders. They function like flying, have Poor maneuverability, and they can't ascend and "rely on either a high launch point or thermal updrafts to gain altitude".

Gliding is basically treated as flying with a restriction.

Forestfolk, from the Fey Feature articles on WotC's site, can also glide.

In addition, one can gain the ability to glide through the Dragon Wings feat (and the Improved Wings feat can get you limited flight at 6th level and full flight at 12th, like dragonborn).
