I shoot the baboon with my light crossbow and then hide.

My monster moved while I was writing out the attack. I'm going to assume that means it won initiative.

As the scorpion approaches, take a swing at it with the greatsword.

You are the test cases ... test 1:creature difficulty - seems a bit high.

Not to high necessarily, also lucky. Hitting and rolling max damage is lethal with almost anything vs. a lvl 1 character.

Well if it is possible for the creatures to kill lvl 1 characters with one hit it will not be too much fun for most. d4 and d6 characters would be very unlikely to survive past encounter 1 or 2.

I will have to drop the creature CR and maybe give characters a round or 2 before the monsters spawn.

As soon as I finish up with the pretty meager challenge in my room, someone is going to have a d10 meatshield.

I feel like it'll go a lot smoother once we have some semblance of teams going. I'd say let it run for another round or two.

I am going to keep it running. I will heal up those that die for the first couple of encounters.

And you do realise that this is a solo game, if you team up with someone you will have to fight each other eventually. But feel free to team up for as long as you want to.

I can't change the maps yet, so its going to be a little bit strange for right now. These posts are the most accurate, the map is out of date.

I'll be playing around with the XP system here. In this dungeon, fighting monsters (and winning) will give all involved in the combat 50xp. Fighting players and winning will give 100XP. Double XP is given for landing the blow that knocks them into the negatives.

If you are killed by a monster, you will respawn in 1d3 rounds. If you are killed by a player, you are dead until the start of the next dungeon. You become ethereal on death, no looting.

Gold will be given and shops will be opened up at the end of this round.

Caedmon walks forward and collects his arrow from the corpse, nonchalantly giving his dog a proud pat on the head as the canine feasts on rat meat. He makes a quick signal, and the dog follows obediently at his heel. Upon drawing near the door, the elf pauses for a moment to listen for any living creatures on the other side. Absent any sign, he opens the door slowly, but a pinch, and gazes into the hall ahead.

All is quiet on the other side of your door.
As you creak it open, you see a corridor about 100 feet in length, brightly lit by torches. It ends abruptly on either side, and continues to travel north. You are very roughly in the center.
With the door open, you can hear muted sounds coming from the left. Possibly barking...?
