I'm going to be playing a campaign this weekend with 2e AD&D rules, and I was hoping to play as a lycanthrope. 3e has rules for PC lycans, but I can't seem to locate any for 2e. There are of course rules for being infected by lycanthropy, but I'm thinking of a true (natural) lycanthrope.
Does anybody know of any rules (official or homebrew) for 2e PC lycans?

Closest I can think of are shapeshifting druids from Baldurs Gate 2 which you can likely turn into pen and paper kit.
Otherwise you essentially take a lycan from the monster manual and homebrew some stats and give it a class and call it a day. AD&D did not have the monster rules that 3e has.

Yeah, as far as I know, there are no official rules for playing a lycanthrope. You and your DM will have to homebrew some rules.

There are a few places that have such. The main ones I can think of are Van Richten's Guide to Werebeasts (primarily intended for NPCs, but can work for PCs) and the Demihumans of the Realms book, covering the Lythari.
