Tarquin planned three days of festivities to celebrate Elan's return, which leads to three questions.

1. How long has it been? Did the day of the evening feast count? That would make it the third day today. Or is this only the second day?

2. Is it still relevant at all or is it totally off the rails in terms of festival plans?

3. If this is only the second day, what was planned for the third day?

On the third day, they resurrect everyone who died in the previous two?

That would be a horrible waste of money, especially seeing as they regularly indirectly slaughter people for petty crimes.

Yeah, but if you resurrect them, you can make them fight to the bloody death all over again! Double the entertainment value!

I guess you'd have to pretend that you weren't going to do that so the souls would consent to the rez, though.

Or, instead, you can have undead gladiators. They're cheaper and you don't need consent.

I'm not sure of when they were counting from, but the dinner took place on the first day Elan was in the castle. Then there was the montage strip for the second day. The parade took place on the second evening. Then Haley and Elan broke into the prison that night. The gladiator games took place on the third day.

So he either meant he'd tell them after the games or the following morning. Either way, those plans are shot.

I think it's the third day. Can't wait to see what happens in strip 800!

Double, you say? It's actually less than double. If a character had (X) levels and was Raised/Resurrected, he now has (X -1) levels. So, the entertainment value is not (2X), it's (2X-1), for each Raised/Resurrected gladiator.

Still, it's more an (X)... :smallamused:

True, but the expression of shocked realisation when they find out that they've been brought back from the afterlife just to fight to the death again more than makes up for it.

That's assuming that the entertainment value of a gladitorial match increases as the skill level of the combatants increases. This assumption is not necessarily correct.
