So, I recently discovered the Pathfinder system after playing D&D 3.5. I like the system very much, and would love to test out the system, but the only resource I have is the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Reference Document (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/). (SRD for Pathfinder basically.) Is it possible for me to play in a Pathfinder campaign with that site alone?

Nah, I perfer the d20 PFSRD (the actual fan based SRD). The official one is lacking.

It is grouped better and reveals in a better reading ability.

But regardless, it is possible (with link I showed).

Alright! I've looked it over and it definitely seems better laid out that the link I posted. Thanks for the pointer!

I just picked uped the system myself, and I do think you need the core rulebook, for Xp tables and stuff like that. Otherwise, evrything you need is in the SRD. The book itself is a good investment. It's a combo Player's Handbook/DMG, and has very nice artwork and presentation.

If your just participating in a campaign, as long as you have a laptop/netbook and someone with a Core Rulebook their willing to let you reference, an you've already learnt the system, than yah, you can just use the SRD.

Actually, the XP chart and wealth is in link under making a character:

Wealth at bottom.

XP is here:

Well, purchasing the books is always a good idea in order to support the publishers so they can make more books and all that, it's a business after all.

Still, rule-wise the SRD is pretty much golden.

Hi

PF is my favourite system at the moment.

If you've got a laptop or tablet, then the PDF's from Paizo aren't too expensive. Just remember to download any erratas too.

Basic books you'll need are the Core Rulebook & Bestiary. There's also some free stuff out there, like 'We be Goblins' scenario and the Bonus Bestiary too.

One other choice is to go to a local convention and join a game there. Pathfinder Society games ('Living pathfinder'), has a few administrative changes , but basically the same.

Another one is to join an online group, who might be able to help you experience more of the game.

Hope that helped

Thanks for all the help guys and rest assured, I plan on getting the actual books as soon as possible. I always get more info out of actually reading the actual book than reading the online versions. I just want to make sure that I enjoy playing the system before I make any commitments. Still so far it looks good, and I'm pretty sure I'll be enjoying it.
