Could someone help me to combine challenge ratings?

Hello hello! I am having a time to roughly work out a (rather high) challenge rating.

Would anyone know the compound value of a 33 and 25 CR combined?

In this case it does, the 25 is a spell caster, the 33 is a melee. :P

It may affect the difficulty of the encounter, but in terms of CR, by RAW, something 8 CR below wouldn't change it at all. You're free to houserule something, but as written, it would make no difference at all.

Another way to think of it: the CR 33 dude is roughly equivalent to 2^4 = 16 CR 25 dudes. You're adding 1 CR 25 dude to that, making it 17 CR 25 dudes. The resulting CR should be 25+2*log2(17) ~= 25+2*(4.09) ~= 33.2.

(This can be approximated by saying it's 1/16 of the way between CR 33 and CR 35.)

This is, of course, by the pure extension of the CR formulas into an area where the DMG explicitly says "cut it out", and /also/ into epic realm where everything breaks down anyway.
