Schism Clarification

Schism says that it allows you to take an extra mental standard action "such as manifesting a power".

This makes sense most of the time, but what about powers with a range of touch (or require a touch attack (melee or ranged))?

Could the extra action also be used to gain psionic focus via Psionic Meditation?

Casting a touch spell or manifesting a touch power grants you the ability to make a touch attack (or an unarmed attack, by many readings) as a free action. So while the standard action to manifest the power is limited to mental actions, you can take a mental action that grants you physical actions, such as Hustle's move action or this free action attack from touch powers.

And I doubt many DMs would consider regaining psionic focus as anything but a mental action, so yeah, that ought to work.

Schism allows an extra purely mental standard action and you can take a move action in place of a standard action (PHB 138), so you should be able to regain psionic focus as long as your DM doesn't object.
