Im making an over-the-top villain for my campaign - whole package involved - tin tyrant armor , spikes of villany , shulderpads of doom etc. The whole purpose of this character is to mask the presence of the true BBEG . So i will be needing some sort of theme music for him that says - Uhh look , im evil and sinister. That and some sort of advice on how to roleplay him

The Omen theme? Or maybe the Imperial March?

A little something I stumbled over for the music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wq7LilFs_10&feature=related

As for roleplaying him, you have quite a few options there.

As for how he should be roleplayed, that will be partially based on his situation. Is he a dark lord at the head of countless armies? Is he a mysterious villain throwing people off of rooftops in the night to further his political goals? Is he leading raids on the countryside to gather slaves to unearth an ancient artifact at the bottom of a lost city? What, in general, are the scope of his (or his master's) goals?

One option that occurs to me is that his dark, obscuring armor could be some kind of construct, and that there really isn't a face beneath his obscuring helm and deep, resonating voice.

Construct? Armor? Faceless? Did someone play jade empire? Still it is classic...

Alternitivly, use this. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tK5WG1ihhgM&feature=related) Or this. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unZjBx5X0hA&feature=related)
Or even this. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3o-irPKQlR4&feature=related)

As for roleplaying him, is he a true serveant or does he have goals of his own?A man of power will always wish to expand it. How many of his servents know that he has his own master? Are there others like him, but is mearly formost among his masters many servants? Is he even human? Being a ogre raised by his master personaly, who gave him a education and gave him the ability to give him a chance in a world that sees his kind as monsters gives him both a reason to serve him and be loyal to him, for the master is literaly a father to him.

Or maybe he's just classic I want the world for my own and cares or knows nothing of the greater villains plans.
As such it may be fun to play him with Ham & Cheese with plenty of scenery eating.

You could also go Sephiroth and other enigmatic characters the players are simply bumps in the road

Or maybe Sauron

Depends should the party fear him for his mind, his power, or just the fact they have no clue into his motivations

I dunno about his main theme, but his battle theme should be Super Buu's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alINjklNwLo). It's crazy and, well, it includes a rockin' guitar.

As for how he should act...two words: Lord Zedd. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYsCt0G6VAE)

The Imperial March

This. It should have been the first thing suggested.

Eh...unless the guy is actually a Sith Lord, I think the March is a bit too iconic to Star Wars to make me take a BBEG who uses it seriously, even in a hammy sense.

Make him confident as hell, show how powerful he is BUT make sure there's a noticeable gap between the foul deeds attributed to him and what he's capable of. Have stories of how me massacred a town in one night silently and then meeting him in person discover he's a hot-blooded maniac. He's still powerful and frightening as hell but it hints at a skill above him- of course by this time he's probably crushing the head of a PC so most people will not be considering the difference between deeds attributed to him and what he's actually like.

Make him large and powerful, make him a liar and an oath breaker but do NOT make him cunning. This will make him seem like a legit threat but leave you with potential for the real BBEG to move around in the huge shadow your villain has.

Instead of the Imperial March, use its iconic sournce; Gustav Holt's Mars - The Bringer of War (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0bcRCCg01I).

the theme music definately depends on what KIND of bad guy we're talking. Political schemer? War Chief? Mad Mage? A hunter of Men?

Dancing Madly is always a good call for a schemer or a mage, but doesn't work too well for a Blackguard or an Assassin.
One Winged Angel is too Iconic Sephiroth, but say, Indestructible (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWxBrI0g1kE) would do well for the blackguard- but probably not the assassin.
This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ha320edRi8), however, is much more suited to an encounter with an assassin, plenty of movement, suitable for chases over rooftops at night.

How about this: Unleash DOOM (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TE517de-6L0)

Relevant video number 1, the text may be hard to see (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BIhn6Z8_us)

Relevant video number 2, the hero get's owned (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdHZzMnYsos)

Relevant video number 3, stabbed in the back, ow (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3Vyj-bBmWs&feature=related)

Relevant video number 4, warning, massive lag in this one. Even with a wound like that he's still...oh dear (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOVjLrQjdAg)

Relevant video number 5, also laggy. And the manure just hit the windmill, end of the world man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0NMgW3n1HU)

That might give you some ideas.

If The Queen's Royal Guards decide to play it in protest against the visiting Saudi King Abdullah caming to Britain, it's good enough for me.

I agree with the Imperial March suggestion.

As for the roleplay aspect, you should make him to be a Darth Vader clone. Use blackened full plate armor, giving him a flowing black cloak, and a flaming sword. Then you can give him a few telekinetic powers to round him off.

Drat, someone beat me to it :)

OK, true story time, not all that thread-related but a quick tell and related to Imperial March/Mars: At an outdoor pops-type concert-in-the-park (meaning the audience is heavily families-having-picnic), we were performing bits from The Planets. We launched into the Mars movement, and a kid in the audience hollered excitedly "Mommy! Mommy!! They're playing Star Wars!!!" Out of the mouths of babes and all that ...

For angsty and some menace, much of Shostakovich will do.

The opening bars to Montague and Capulets, in the *Prokofiev* version of Romeo & Juliet, is grand duel music.
