I have a pbp game starting, and an interesting choice by DM nets me one item between 11-16k that I'll get to keep.

I'm playing a Warlock. Buiild tbd, but not Glaive-lock.

What should my one item be!?

All sourcebooks legal.

What level are you playing at, what other items do you have, and what is the outline of your build (I assume you'd just use the Fell Flight invocation rather than getting an item to fly, for example)?

I also have some more general advice (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187851), but, yeah... more info would be nice.

Mithral Breastplate is always an option. Enchanted to taste, of course.

If you can convince your DM to give you an 18k item, you could roll with a greater chausible of fell power (+2d6 on all Eldritch Blasts). That'd be useful no matter what you're doing as a Warlock, cause more EB=more win.

Belt of Battle, hands down.

Starting at lv. 1focusing on the blast and maybe some social stuff in the skills.

Which makes this choice all the more important. It should ideally be something usefull for a long time, but should provide an amazing ability or power at lv.1.

In that case I can only second the mention of the greater chasuble of fell power (though it is 18k).
3d6 Eldritch blast at first level generally means one hit killing anything.

you are starting at level 1, you probably dont really have much left over after getting your standard adventuring gear

Ya I support the 3d6 edritch blast at level 1. It really isn't that bad either since a fighter with a greatsword deals more than that with a 16 strength. First level is a one shot fest anyway

For builds, I have some ideas for you. Can your character be evil? If yes, then one of these builds might be entertaining.
Warlock 4/ Binder 1/ Ur-Priest 2/ Eldritch Disciple 2/ Hellfire Warlock 3/ Eldritch Disciple 8
Warlock 4/ Binder 1/ Ur-Priest 2/ Eldritch Disciple 2/ Hellfire Warlock 3/ Eldritch Disciple 2/ Mindbender 1/ Eldritch Disciple 5

For items: Circlet of Persuasion, Collar of Umbral Metamorphosis, Gloves of Object Reading, Azan-gund "Night Caller" Whistle, Mask of Lies
