For a one-shot campagin that my and my friends are doing, I want to play a frontline melee character, with a Arab-horseman type feel. We're starting at level 11, 25 point buy. I was thinking a lv6 Ranger, lv1 fighter (for the feat) and lv4 Paladin, specializing in the two-weapon combat combat style. (dual-wielding scimitars is really cool:smallcool::smalltongue:) I don't expect the other players to have overly-optimized characters, so I'm not worried I'll be overshadowed by being a melee character, but I want to make sure my character isn't completely incompetent at doing anything.

I'd stick with either ranger or paladin all the way to 11, actually. Ranger and its free two-weapon fighting feats probably fits your character better, though paladin is probably the better of the two classes when it comes to damage.

Some other options you might consider are:
- cavalier or samurai
-roughrider fighter http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/fighter/archetypes/paizo---fighter-archetypes/roughrider
-two weapon fighter http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/fighter/archetypes/paizo---fighter-archetypes/two-weapon-warrior

Rogue is now a serious choice since it is much less likely to get denied SA.

Note that unless there's some splatbook option I've missed, dual-wielding scimitars will give you a hefty penalty until Fighter (Two Weapon Warrior ACF) 11.

Also, if you're going TWF, I'd recommend a class with a good amount of bonus damage, such as Rogue with Sneak Attack or Paladin with Smite Evil.
