Any way to get Teleportation as a Spell-Like ability (any teleport spell works) as a physical creature, level 1, no LA (or 1 LA max)?
Like Fey Step in 4e, or whatever it's called for Eladrin.

Abrupt Jaunt, the Conjurer's Immediate Magic ACF, from PHB II.

There is a unique and powerful spell that achieves this. Firstly you need to procure a twenty dollar bill, then taking this twenty dollar bill in your hand, give it to your DM. Of course you should also mail me 10 dollars for giving you this brilliant idea.

I believe swordsage gets a teleport like maneuver although I don't remember what level it is, this may or may not qualify you depending on your DM.

Er, I meant as more of an at-will thing.

Abrupt Jaunt won't work. :[

The Blink Shirt soulmeld gives you an at-will ability that's awfully similar to Dimension Door, but it's not specifically an SLA.

Awww, darn. Class ability. :[

Sorry, I guess I was looking for a racial thing.

Shape Soulmeld: Blink Shirt. If you've got a race to spare, go azurin or duskling to get a point of essentia to put in it. Enjoy.

How early can I get that?

How early can I get that? The only prerequisite is 13 Con.

Level 1.

Check out MoI. The most relevant pages are 40-41 and 60-61, but of course, you'll need a passing familiarity with the whole shebang.

Uhh, is it possible to play a completely unrelated class, and just pick up those feats, and be able to bind the Blink Shirt to my totem?
I'd like to be able to use it as that move action...

Nope. There's absolutely no way to get the totem chakra without being a Totemist. Thankfully, it only takes a dip of 2 levels. Just the feat alone will get you the basic shape, of course.

SO, 2 level dip, and I'm teleporting around.
Another question, then. Would I even need the feat, then? or could I just take the two levels and get what I wanted from it?

Nope...if you take the two levels, you don't need the feat at all.

Hahaha, alright. So, for a level 3 character... BAB 2, teleportation 30ft. as a move action? wut. That's pretty cool.

Doesn't the Shadow-walker template in UE (+1 LA) get that 1/day?

edit: Checked. It does, more or less: you get abilities based on character level. At level 3, you get Dimension Door 1/day but you later get more uses per day. Close enough .

UE?

I haven't a clue as to what that book is...

UA stands for Unapproachable East, an FR book with (one of the) infamous shadowpouncers.

Oh, okay, Only useful after doing something, then. May as well keep it a standard action, then. Haha. Still, AWESOME for a feat.

You could, however, cast/attack before D-door'ing away. Could be useful sometimes. (But may not be worth the investment)

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. 2 levels for a 20 foot move after a standard action attack isn't something I can build on much. But I will take at-will teleportation as a standard action, it could always be useful.

Yea, a two-level dip in Totemist for Blink Shirt is one of the more common methods of Shadow-Pouncing, with allies that have WRT to give you more full attacks.

Rossebay
2011-08-18, 02:27 PM
WRT? What's that?

Sorry, still getting all the lingo down.

Finally, what's all this about Shadow Pouncing?

Two PrCs, Crinti Shadow Marauder and Teflammar Shadow Lord, allow you to make a full attack whenever you teleport. Naturally, the thing to do is teleport using all your actions, and get three full attacks per round while dodging the sudden downpour of DMGs.
