Two in black felt tip pen with watercolour pencils:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KEgimN3WR0o/Tk1eFMU6R1I/AAAAAAAABII/gnSk6tehXsI/s1600/Satu-1.jpg

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EZ7DrYDB430/Tk1d42mLylI/AAAAAAAABH4/KTujl3ObCnU/s1600/Mirjam-C-1.jpg

These are the latest I've completed, and I'm pretty happy with how they've turned out. Satu's pants are a bit rubbish (and her pose seems a bit off to me), and the red on Mirjam's dress could be better shaded, but not bad for a first attempt.

Greyscale felt pens:

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qosCgwI9ZNo/TLX6u_UF4SI/AAAAAAAAAuI/yCl5khUJU1w/s1600/Brynn_Skjasgaard.jpg

I think the cloak on her right comes out a bit too far, and the perspective on her axe, particularly her left hand, is a bit weird.

Large image in felt pens:

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qosCgwI9ZNo/TOE_3ZxL7bI/AAAAAAAAAwA/edk65qgNnTc/s1600/LisbD01.jpg

Some of the perspective is a bit off, but I did draw this sitting at Florence airport, so it's not too bad I think.

Pencil work:

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sDqQ7i4olw0/Tk1dpLB8ArI/AAAAAAAABHA/58LFsFrB9PM/s1600/LiGang01.jpg

The weird line is because this is A3, but my scanner is only A4...

More felt pens:

Character models for a story I wrote (http://www.box.net/shared/jao0zrrkkk).

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qosCgwI9ZNo/TJe80HbIj8I/AAAAAAAAAqI/8O3poK2ks-4/s1600/Illus01.jpg

40k Terminator, though the colours scanned weird.

Pencils:

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rL27SLSCNb8/Tk1dpBopv-I/AAAAAAAABG4/Mfy41qCKGq8/s1600/Headache01.jpg

An old picture, circa 2006ish, thus why it's gone a bit grey.

Ball point pen:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-70VLjGQEZW8/Tk1d4CjagdI/AAAAAAAABHY/jK5CJUyxxJQ/s1600/Mirjam-03.jpg

I think I either copied or borrowed heavily on the design here, but it turned out well.

More on my blog here (http://collegiatitanica.blogspot.com/search/label/Drawing).

Comments, criticisms and questions welcome!

Satu, not having a good day (felt tip pens and watercolour pencils):

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r314/Gotthammer/40k/Satu-2.jpg

Blending of my styles here, and getting a bit more used to the pencils. Not sure the rain effect worked 100% - getting the wetness/reflectiveness of her clothes across was a challenge.
Still got to get used to planning out colour blocks better to retain 'negative' space for highlights. Miniature painting's spoiled me there.

Interesting bit of shading/lighting there, but i'm kinda unhappy with the anatomy, especially of the hands and legs. These people look somewhat ...uh, "squashed". (Like they're really short)

The hyper shading is due to never being good at it, so I decided to go on an all out attack on the technique after reading some B&W comics and being suitably inspired.

Is there anyone in particular you're meaning in terms of anatomy, or for all? Satu (the first and last coloured one) is meant to be short, and I can see what you mean with the pen tripple pic, but if you mean the others could you please elaborate

Another pic:

Playing around with negative colouring, though I probably should have made her neckerchief a different colour as there's blue overload going on here.

"Are you so foolish as to expect to steal from a Mallevechii and live?"

...jeez, that is a scary face. http://i.imgur.com/CXTge.jpg

To the sketch-mobile!

Might not explain all that much, though.

Well, she is about to stab the 'viewer'. That'd be clearer if I'd not bothced the scan and got the rest of teh dagger in of course...

No it's good  Very helpful as I knew there was something wrong about the picture. Doubly annoying as it's the third version I did, and the original sketch was perfect.
But I suspect that's because I left a lot of the things I got wrong out or vague so I could fill them in subconsiously.

Either way I'm happy with the colours.

More sketches!

The aim here is to do some people of different expressions and ethnicities.

French lady and depressed looking Chinese dude:

Eastern Euro guy and Archie:

Scand girl and British guy:

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r314/Gotthammer/Port-3.jpg

Middle Eastern woman and Indian man (though his right eye is off a bit)

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r314/Gotthammer/Port-4.jpg

Modelling the Scandinavian girl in different views/emotions.:

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r314/Gotthammer/Port-5.jpg

I'm not 100% on the laughing one, looks a bit too much like she's crying to me - I can't decide.

I tend to have people doing half-smiles / emotes a lot, probably due to that being how I smile and emotes due to not being able to move the right side of my face very much.

I also have a terrible habit of drawing the hairline too low. I blame too much anime personally.

Also found an old sketchbook, circa 2002:

Gangster (Johnny Shortlegs):

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r314/Gotthammer/Port-7.jpg

Two fashionable ladies - early sketches of the Mallavechii clan vampires seen above - good line work but the shading and 'weight' of the picture is a bit rubbish (no texture/depth and whatnot):

I can't help but notice that you draw really pronounced noses, which makes these people look pretty rough, feature-wise. You might wanna refine those so they look less like butchers.

(Which was one of the main "scary" parts of the picture i sketched on.)

Hrm that's probably a hangover from my artistic influences (mostly UK comic artists like Sibbick, Gibson etc). Though I personally don't see them as being rough or scary, but that'll just have to be a style point we disagree on I think

That said, the next step is to draw... without lines at all :smalleek: Going to be interesting as it's something I've never been able to do.
