I've been working on a Mr. Hyde (http://pathfinder.ogrehut.com/2010/07/alchemists-guide-mr-hyde/) Alchemist build for a Pathfinder game I'm about to join, and I had a couple of questions and misconceptions that I needed cleared up before I'm done.

Namely, I need to better understand how the Feral Mutagen (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/alchemist/discoveries/paizo---alchemist-discoveries/feral-mutagen), Tentacle (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/alchemist/discoveries/paizo---alchemist-discoveries/tentacle-ex), and Vestigal Arm (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/alchemist/discoveries/paizo---alchemist-discoveries/vestigial-arm-ex) discoveries interact with wielding a manufactured weapon. The errata'd rules (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/pathfinder-faq#TOC-Natural-Attacks-and-Weapon-Attacks-) state that mixing natural and manufactured attacks works like how it did in 3.5 - with all of the natural attacks becoming secondary attacks and thus attacking at BAB-5.

Here's the question I have, though. The Vestigal Arm and Tentacle Discoveries state that they DO NOT give the alchemist any extra attacks or actions, but they CAN wield a weapon.

So, is it possible for a level 20 Alchemist with one Vestigial Arm or Tentacle and the Multiattack (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/monster-feats/multiattack-combat) feat wielding a Longsword in the Arm or Tentacle to make a full attack including +15/+10/+5 Longsword, +13 Bite, & 2 +13 Claw attacks?

...Hmmm. I have no idea. Looks legit, insofar as anything that makes the G.M go WTF BANNED is legit.

Can be read both ways.

Straight RAW tho, looks like the Vestigial Arms and Tentacles never give you extra attacks of any sort, so it wouldn't work.

However, unless it's a tier3- group and not optimized at all, I don't see anything too wrong about it, so I'd allow if I were the DM.

Another thing worthy of consideration is if having a Vestigial Arm would allow you to carry a shield with no penalty on attacks (even without proficiency) or if it would allow to both hold a weapon with two hands and a shield at the same time (or TWF with 2H if you have both Vestigial Arms).

My thought is to use the vestigial arms to hold a long spear. You then have reach. Add-in enlarge person for 20' reach, threatening 5-10' with the feral bite/claws. You can't full attack with the spear and claws/bite, but you can take combat reflexes for a lock-down build.

You are never gaining extra attacks, as you can use the spear (with reach) or the claws/bite (maybe claw/bite/spear if you are counting total number of attacks, saying the clause denying extra attacks sets a cap on the number of attacks total, in this case 3).

Hmm, never thought of that. Seem like a completely raw way to get 2-weapon fighting with two 2-handed weapons at full 2-handed STR and power attack bonus. Unless I'm missing something.
